A question about rtd and reentry permit..

You can try asking for a service request, but if you have proof of the need to travel, try mailing them a letter with that, or contact your congressman saying you urgently need to travel and apply for a visa and would like to see if they can get it expedited.

I applied for RTD without paying application and biometric fee, coz the instruction says that if i paid in I-485, i never need to pay again in I-131. I received a letter in mail yesterday requiring for payment, need to reply within 60 days. Any advise?

Second: I just came to know that RTD only valid for 1 year, while Re-enter permit last 2. I got my PR thru asylum. Do you think i can call or write in to change my application? Any idea?
I am flying overseas in March 2011.

The I-131 fee waiver only applies WHILE the I-485 remains PENDING. You have gotten LPR status already, so you must pay now that the I-485 is no longer pending. The fee for an RTD is significantly less than a re-entry permit. RTD is $135 + 85 (for anyone 16 to 79 years old); REP is $360 + 85.

So this is the 3rd of January, 2011. My I131 reentry is taking longer than the posted 3 month processing time. I am planning to schedule an info pass and see what is going on. I hope this wait will be over soon. I need to travel overseas by March 2011. I called USCIS and was dealing with people who just tell you what you already know from your online case status. I was not allowed to file a service request when I called last week and was told that I just need to understand that the processing times are only an estimate. I was told that my case is still according to processing times. What is that supposed to mean? It is past the processing time for me now and This is my first reentry permit by the way.

has anyone applied for a reentry permit around september 20th of last year and received anything yet?

Finally received my reentry permit....Applied ND 09/21/2010 and approved 02/7/2011 ...so almost 5 months. Good luck to everyone else.

5 Months? wow but congrats....i wonder if RTDs take that long with the Nebraska Service Center or is it the Re-entry permits...This is way out of processing time which is like 3 months for Nebraska Center.

Wait, did you say that RTDs are free every time you apply for one while the I485 is pending, or is it just the first one? I got jacked if that's the case.

Just returned from a trip to London, UK. Spent 2 weeks there. Point of Entry was Washington, Dulles. Green card was swiped, reentry permit was checked and gave my fingerprints. Process took no longer than a few minutes. I was jet lagged and once I arrived to San Francisco, I realized that my reentry permit was not stamped by the CBP officer at Dulles Airport. Would there be a problem when I apply for citizenship next year because of that?
