I am going to accept a new job at Singapore with a foreign employer with little presence in the US. I have had my GC for last 4 years now. My question is about I-131 re-entry permit and N470..
First I-131:
This note above lists the process very succiently for filing I-131. I have couple of follow-up questions.
1. The purpose was put as "temporary work assignment abroad". Does one need to provide any backup for that? Offer letter/Transfer letter etc.?
In my case I am taking up a new job in Singapore. I am not sure how things will go in the new job, if it all works out then we may decide not to return to US however, till I am sure I don't want to give up my GC status. Any ideas on how to approach this?
Did you include any pre-paid self addressed express mailers? I am not sure what USCIS means by express mailers. Can somebody elaborate?
2. Am I be eligible to apply for N407 (I believe this is the form to meet continous stay requirements to apply for Citizenship later)
Any help will be appreciated.
thanks
