I'm sure it was not. I was monitoring labor progress so I knew that it's approved even before my lawyer/employer knew. But original never got to my lawyer (lost in the mail if it was ever sent) so they didn't even have the chance to loose it. On the request DOL said that they cannot provide copy but will provide one upon VSC request. It was explained in I-140 application. It's just took 8 month for VSC to actually ask DOL.

Original goes to Lawyer and a copy goes to employer.
 
Sometimes next day and ..

Sometimes 2-3 weeks. In my case it never changed so my lawyer sent it again and then it changed.

Hello guys,
I have a question that is unrelated to this thread. I am sorry for posting it here.

My 6th year of H1B completes in mid May and my I-140 was applied in December. My useless attorney who never initiate anything on his own is preparing for my 7th year extension without my asking.

I don't want to apply for then extension now becasue i have 3 more months to go. In the meantime i may get my I-140 approval. If my I-140 get approved then i can go for 3 yrs extension rather than go for 1 yr.

Now my question is, how late one can apply for 7th year extension? Lets say my 6th expires on 25th of May, can i apply for 7th year extension between 15 or 20th of May. Just 5 or 10 days before expiration? Can i delay the process for time being?

Friends, please clarify.
 
Legally you can file your ext as late as 24th May (should reach USCIS by this date) BUT just think of any documents missing in filing and you have to re-file etc., scenarios...

so in my opinion, since your 140 may be approved at any time, you can delay the filing but make sure that it is filed atleast couple of weeks before so that you will get receipt of filing before your expire date.

again if u don't file with premium processing then it may take few months and you probably know that you cannot travel out of USA.

Lawyers always try to make more money...

You can do last min also. other wise you apply some time before with request for 3 year. with refering I-140 receipt. Then They will check about approval status while h1b process. if not they will issue 1 yaer h1b.

Got an email from USCIS today.

140 approved on 2/16/06
140 EB2 RD 1/3/06 LUD 1/27/06 AD 2/16/06

Thank MD2001 and A001 for your response. I am planning to wait for another 45 days. I hope VSC would approve my case by then.

Hey mananD, Did you see any change or LUD's during this period? Mine is applied in Dec 13th and no changes after that.

Actually, what i noticed, that these ultra fast approvals are mostly for the guys who can't file i485 or have no visa numbers avail... wierd pattern.

I am just kidding man. Anyway your theory seems incorrect. Even i couldn't file I-485 due to retrogress. Mine is EB3 with PD Feb 2002.
 
I-140 approved too

I checked USCIS website and it said my I-140 approved on Feb. 16, 2006. My case is EB-2 Substitution LC priority date is 7/12/2001. I am from China. I-140 RD 12/28/2005. So I am not sure in the approval I-140 notice what PD will be. Is it what the person above said INS approved those 140 cases which could not file I-485? What will be my case PD date? Could I file I-485 now? My case is through firm's lawyer, so what I have is just the receipt # and PD date of Sub Lc. thanks

LUD changed only once on 1/27/06 for my 140. Don't worry. It looks like VSC is speeding up. You'll get yours soon.
