I am new to this forum.

EAD Approved

Just got the emails about the approved EAD for me and my wife.

I am currently on H1-B which is stamped till march 06.
I havent filed for AP with my EAD 485 application.

Question for gurus...you think I should file for AP before Sept 30th or I can file later on? Also, if I get AP...is the H1 still valid until March 06 for travelling outside assuming I dont use the AP for travel?
Your thoughts would be really appreciated.

Congrats! You can file AP later some time around Jan/Feb'06.

One more EAD Q

If wife uses EAD to just get Social Sec no and doesn't work on EAD will that changes the status from H4 ?

Yes. I think her status will be changed to work authorization. But she will be fine and she can be on AOS(485 pending).

IMHO, No, applying for and getting SSN using EAD does not change your status, if you are in H4, you remain in H4. Staus changes only when you start working using EAD. There has been a lot of discussion in this topic, please seach in the forum.
 
I-140 question

Hi,
I'm still waitng for my LC but I'd like to prepare for my next step in advance because my daughter doens't not live with us in USA but in our home country. My question is if I want to file GC for her, does she have to be here with us while filing I-140 and if so I have to plan to bring her back cause the new relulation is people must file I140 in 45 days after LC apporval.

EAD Approved

Hi Guys:

Pleased to inform that my EAD was approved today. Just recd an e-mail, that the it was approved. However, my wife's EAD has not been approved as yet. Although there was an LUD on both our 485 cases today. Not too sure what that LUD meant, as there is no message change for either of the 2 cases. I hope they approve my wife'e case soon as well.

I-140 Lud after 2 months of approval

Hi

MyI-140/485 was applied on March 16th (EB2) and I-140 got approved on June 20, 2005 and I gave my FP May 05 2005. Ever since my FP there was no LUD on 485 (strange).

Today on I-140 there was a LUD, don’t know what caused (hope not I-140 revocation) that. Do I need worry about that I-140 LUD? Please feel free to send you guess what might be I-140 LUNd reason/

Hi MAA,
I also got LUD today on my approved I140 after One and half month .
I don't know what is going on. I replied for 485 RFE last week . May be that triggered the LUD. But there is no LUD or Message change on 485.

My 140 / 485 were sent on 09/16 (Last Friday) by UPS overnight.
What do the following mean from the posts here
RD, ND, AD.
Is RD = Receipt Date, ND = Notice Date ??, AD = Approval Date
Also, how will know where to look for the unique # that should have to check status online ? I notice a lot of you discuss LUDs. What is an LUD ? And How can I look it up.
My apologies if my questions are dumb but I am new and this where I learn.

Hi:

Once you obtain the receipts, they will have the following info:

RD and ND and the Receipt numbers. Then you can go to the USCIS.gov website and create an account and add these receipt numbers to the account.

LUD: Last update date. When you check the status online based on your receipt number, it will indicate the last LUD if any.

You should receive your receipts in another 2-3 weeks( max).

Looks like you are about a month or two ahead of me (at least dates wise) in the queue so I for one will be watching for your case status to estimate how mine will proceed.
Goodluck and hope this is not going to be as painful as the labor certification.
