Congratulations to all who escaped from the shackles of H1s and Good Luck to others.

I hope, things will speed up next week as this week is a spring break and also VSC employees are taking a break to enjoy the nice hot weather in New England.

Need some clarification from Guru's

Congrats bright, seannc & onrd2gc on your GC approvals.
I am also in a similar situation like onrd2gc. Do we need to take infopass appointment for my son to get the passport stamping as he will get only approval notice. He is under 14 and he need not get the biometrics done.

Guru's can someone shed some light on this situation.

Thanks.

What a pleasant morning. I have received almost 10 emails from UCSIC with different messages. Thanks to jpanchal and others for a great support all these months. This is really a great forum.

For me and my wife **********

On April 19, 2005, after approving your application, we ordered you a
new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready.

For my kids *********

This case has been approved. On April 19, 2005, an approval notice was
mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice,
you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address,
please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

Since UCSIC has taken digital photos for me and my wife, i guess they mailed the cards directly. Should i take infopass appontment for kids? Can someone respond to my query please?

Could someone let me know the difference between PD and ND for Labor?
Priority Date(PD) is the date when Labor is filed to State.
Notification Date(ND) is the date when CIS allots a case number and starts processing.

Approval pattern at VSC

After doing a detailed ananlysis of the recently approved cases (especially EB3), I think I have figured out VSC's approval pattern- here goes...

if the PD is current and I140 has been approved, they are going by the FP date(FP done date) to approve 485's.
Currently they are working on cases with FP "done date" of 3/17/05 or less. You can also make an argument that they are going by FP "results received" date. But it's the same either way you look at it...

So for those of you whose PD is current and FP was done before 3/17/05, you should have either received your approval by now or got an RFE.
For those with FP done dates between 3/17 and 3/25(I happen to fall into this category) - it could happen any moment folks!!! You may want to rehearse how you want to react upon seeing the approval email ...here're a few sane ideas -

1. clinch your fist and punch the air yelling 'YES...YES' at the same time

2. Start running in slo mo, saying (again in slo mo) 'I....D.....I....D.....I....T'
(this option works better if you have a spouse and can be dramatized even further by lifting the wife up and spinning her in the air...ouch  )

3. (My favourite)Do nothing...just stare at the email...space out...enjoy that feeling of "sweet emptiness"(borrowed this phrase from a fellow poster)

Just PM me if yo need more ideas ;)

Good luck!

duggils1,

what you just said is true... but you forgot 1 thingy: NAME CHECK!

and only GOD knows when that one clears :( For those with cleared name checks & security checks the pattern is about right...

Good Luck!

duggils1,

I wish your analysis will come true in my case. I did my FP on 2/23, PD is current, 140 approved. Still nothing.

But I liked your posting. Good one. Feel free to post other ideas also.

Good luck.

When did you call VSC to update your address? Did the message change? I think I had a message change when I changed my address.

GCG:
Yes, I omitted the name check issue. Unfortunately if you are stuck in the name check process, then it may be a couple of more quarters before you can celebrate.

Well thats an interesting observation. I did my FP on 3/25. Lets see if you are correct. I wont have to wait long in that case. :)

By the way, there was another LUD on 4/19. Wonder what they keep doing to the case to have so many LUD's.
