Different people, different rate
Here is my conjecture. I would assume that there are several people working on the I140 stream. People would be assigned a batch of files. The good and diligent people who work hard process faster while all the lazy person does is idle just like any other work place. If you are one of the unlucky ones that got your file in the lazy workers batch, then your approval will be substantially later. If there was any way that these people are given an incentive (maybe financial) based on the number of applications they process, I bet you that the backlog would be a history.

I heard if the official processing date is past 30 days from the receipt day, one could initiate a status enquiry?

Status enquiry could be done only when Publish dates cross one month of ND so unless they say that they are processing case as of Oct 26h 2003, we can't do that, also it needs to be done by Attorny or employer, ofcourse they will not show much interest in this.
it is really frustrating, i just want them to give there verdict, i am so frustrated that i would be even happy if they reject it, going thrue real tough time,employer is messing up every day, just donno how long to wait.

I know that guys who have notice dates similar to me are eagerly looking for their I-140 to be approved whereas my boat sailed very slowly to just reach the EAD station, still waiting for the AP though.
I got an RFE on May 10th for fresh copy of the passport for EAD and AP.

You didn't post the exact dates, so couldn't update it, you can update the tracker yourself. Just make sure you insert the row based on the EB category and ND of 140, then apply the formatting from another similar EB category row so all formulas get copied.

Unfortunately had an RFE on MY 140 ..regarding DEgree Evaluation ( have Mech Engg BE) ..Lawyer got my degree evaluated and USCIS received the response on 4th june..last update date on my case shows todays date ..but I dont think I will get to hear anything from them till atleast 30 - 35 days are over ( thats how long USCIS is taking to reach a decision once an RFE response is received by their offce)..
I seldom go on the 485 section of this forum but I guess "JOYD" might know more as to which thread is the best to track all VSC 485 .. if not then just go ahead and start a new thread "Jul-Aug-Sep-03" thread to track all the July to Aug 485 case in the vermont section( just like we have it here in 140 forum ) and I will soon join you there to share pain/sorrow/anguish/frustration/agony/depression and then finally joy/happiness/content/satisfaction/PEACE
