At least chaning the date on a pending I140 case makes some sense: one may claim that they are working on it. Why would they change the date on an already approved EAD?
Not to mention that I'm getting an approval email for the EAD everyday. You can imagine how excited I get when I see an USCIS email in my inbox, just to discover that it is the same old one.

May sound dumb though. Was wondering how you guys find out the last updated date. Do you mean the online status changes saying the same or? Would appreciate the response.

Yes -- from the online status. Either the date(s) in your account page (if you've set one up) or the date in the actual online status message for a specific EAC# -- afaik these should always be the same, although I suppose they could get out of synch if the data is stored in 2 different fields somewhere (hopefully they are pulled from the same source...).

ETA

Thank you ETA-GC,
I only knew about checking the status online but never had an account setup. I have done it now. Its much easier way to get info on all pending applications.

Thanks again,
Destiny

Same stuff has been happening with me. My EAD was approved on May 26. The LUD changed next day to May 27. The message remained same "On May 26, 2004, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready."

Then on June 1 it updated again saying that "This case has been approved. On June 1, 2004, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283." Now today I checked and this date updated again with the same message. the interesting thing is that I received my EAD Card on June 1 (i.e. yesterday) even though the message had said that the Approval notice (which I am assuming is the EAD Card itself) was mailed on June 1.

Sometimes USCIS has ways that go beyond common reasoning and I am assuming common people like us (i.e. highly qualified engineers, doctors and managers) would never understand them. I guess this is related to the "american dumbness" :))

getting email from USCIS for my case

People , I am new here, just wondering how do you provide your email address to the USCIS to send you the case status?

Added info for RBacherak (from another post):

updated tracker

Added my info in the tracker

I140 ND - 9/18/03
485 ND - 11/18/03
EAD/AP ND - 4/23/04

Checked up with my HR.. No RFE or any kind of action notice rcvd? The website shows Oct1'03 as the 140 date??

Tracker..

Please do not upload the tracker, I am taking it down for maintenance. Many of the rows are off.

If you have to post your approval, pls post it in the message and I will pick it up.

Thanks

Latest Tracker...

Here's the latest tracker with the following:

1) The rows should be in place ordered by EB category and Notice Date of I-140 (concurrent or otherwise), in case I-140 information is not available, I-485/EAD/AP Notice Date is used.

2) Enough time was given for the orphan records (pardon the language) at the end to be updated, I have assumed they are in EB3 category and moved them, if incorrect, pls update them and move them in their place.

There are still some rows without any Notice Date for I-140, pls update them and move them appropriately.

3) Added a comments column at the end. Continue to use Excel's comments in the cell, but if you need to add additional info, you can add them in the last comments column.

That's all for now. Pls continue to add/update the rows based on the EB Category and Notice Date.

Hopefully we all get approval soon.

2nd EAD
-------
MD: 3/1/2004
RD: 3/2/2004
ND: 3/5/2004
AD: 6/2/2004

Did you apply on your own or through attorney?

I like the way you have put the EAD information in the comments, it makes sense to do it that way instead of having multiple EAD/AP columns.

Where are we standing on I-140? Have all the adjudicators in INS has gone for a LONG vacation? They usually update the processing times every two weeks, so they should have done it by yesterday or so...... it seems they dont want to work...!!

Maybe they haven't come back from their Memorial Day vacations yet. C'mon give them a break, they have been working so hard on the immigration cases, they deserve a break ;)
