2003 Consolidated Tracker ONLY (140/EAD/AP/FP/485)

Shouldn't the 140/485 tracker have a column for RFE? It will make tracking the cases which have RFE and its approval better. The current way of comments for RFE does not allow to track cases which have RFE.

Or can someone redirect me to any other forum/thread which has RFE and approval tracking?

I suppose we could have added columns for tracking RFE's but I'm not sure how useful this would be, especially at this point. The current approach of simply flagging the I-140 / I-485 column or adding a comment does at least let people see if a case has an RFE...

The main goal for the tracker (IMO) is to give people an idea of when their case might be approved. The main way in which this is achieved is by letting people see which cases the VSC is working on. e.g. by looking at recent approval dates or by looking at the table that I added last week. The average time that it is taking to approve cases is also somewhat useful, although there are many ways in which that can be inaccurate.

It's not obvious to me that an RFE necessarily slows a case down. In many cases, RFEs are issued relatively early on and, in some cases, an RFE can actually speed a case up if the VSC approves the case when the RFE response is received. So, even if we had all this RFE data in it's own column, I'm not sure how we could put it to use...

And, this is a somewhat moot point anyway, because from what I can tell, the majority of the cases in the tracker don't have any active RFE currently and I also suspect that most people don't post their RFE info -- it's hard enough to get I-485 approval information :).

My concurrent EB2 in vermont i485 had a LUD change on 12/10/04. my i140 was approved 6 months ago and i am anxiously awaiting i485 approval. The RD was 11/19/03. But there is no status change. Does anyone have experience that may explain this, and also when can i anticipate there will be a status change? thx, douglas

There are tons of threads on LUD changes in the I-485 forum (http://boards.immigration.com/forumdisplay.php?f=96).

LUD changes with no change in the status message probably indicates some activity on your case but it's not clear that this means that any action is imminent -- it could be 1 day to 8 weeks or longer before anything happens. Many people get approved with no LUD change. Check the threads in the I-485 forum for more info (there's even a LUD tracker there...).

We had a wave of LUDs for October 2003 cases a few weeks ago -- looks like the VSC is starting to pull November 2003 cases now...

my wife and i have same dates except for FP
my 485 ND - july 3, 2003
my fp done - 11/4/2004
my wife - 11/16/2004

today the case is transferred to atlanta.

does anybody know:

a. in what circumstances the cases are transferred?
b. what questions they ask?
c. do they stamp on the same day?
d. any thing that i have to be careful or might go wrong?
e. does anybody have prior experiences with atlanta?

thank you for your input.

When was your I-140 approved (so I can updated the tracker)?

Transfers can occur for a variety of reasons, or there may be no specific reason (just a random transfer). Possible reasons could include:

+they want to verify your marriage situation
+you aren't working for the sponsor currently -- they want to check on that

See the I-485 forum for more info -- you'll get a lot more feedback there.

My future employer sponsored the GC and my labor was filed in Pennsylvania. I moved to Alabama since then and so my case is transferred to Atlanta.

my i-140 was approved on september 15 2004

Never having worked for the sponsor is a definite red flag -- there's a good chance that they transferred your case so they can look into this in more detail.

Thanks for the I-140 AD -- I updated the tracker with that.

Good luck!

Correction made

Just checking my details and saw that I was a concurrent filer in the excel spreadsheet but in reality I was not. After approval of I 140 I did apply for I 485

Got the I 140 approval copy and corrected the RD and ND data and also added the PD

Still waiting for my turn to say yahoo......

I-140 finally approved

Just when we were losing hope of getting a 140 approval before the year ended, an e-mail from USCIS gave us the much sought after news.

Interestingly, we checked last night before going to bed and there was nothing, obviously the batch updates happen overnight.

I-140 Approval date - 12/14/04 (please update the tracker accordingly)

As a concurrent filer from 11/2003, could I expect a relatively quicker I-485 approval also?

For the many guys in the tracker on either side of me, keep the faith the cases are moving.

Congrats. It's possible that you've been slated for a concurrent / semi-concurrent approval -- we've seen a few cases like that recently (3 of them in the tracker for EB1 cases).

I'll update the tracker.

Tracker Updated (I-485 approvals)

Added I-485 approval info for indianexpert (I-140 ND: 0/12/03 I-485 ND: 09/22/03 AD: 12/15/04).

This approval was 5 days early according to the "Expected Days Remaining" from the tracker for this case :).

Got rid of % completed (out of cases with FP and I-140 given) -- probably wasn't that useful since many people haven't put in their I-140 and FP information.

% TRANSFERRED (OUT OF ALL CASES ) 2.3%
% APPROVED (OUT OF ALL CASES) 35.7%
% COMPLETED (OUT OF ALL CASES) 38.0%

Update: removed attached file -- newer version available later in this thread.

One of my ex-colleague got approved today (12/15/04) at VSC. His case is EB3, 485 ND 09/03/03. I do not know any more details.

I somehow feel that there are fewer approvals this week  . Is that true?

As far as the tracker goes, we've had 8 cases processed this week so far. Last week had 13 (compared to 20 the week before). So it's possible that we're still on track to have an "average" week if we get a few more approvals over the next few days. I was hoping earlier that we'd be seeing 20+ approvals per week every week but that hasn't happened so far...

There have been quite a few approvals in the I-485 forums and elsewhere for cases which aren't in the tracker.

When does 485 transfers to Local Centers happen? Is it before FP or after FP?

Thanks
