Strange - LUD change, but in EAD app
I was stamped on Feb 15. The LUD on my I485 has not changed since it was first approved, but today I noticed that the LUD on my last EAD application (which was approved back in November 2004) changed to 2/28/2005.
I don't know what this means. Just...
I don't have mine yet
I too was approved by VSC on Jan 27, according to the email that I received on Jan 28, but no approval notice in today's (Feb 2's) mail.
Happens all the time
Take a look at form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker. There is only a field for Country of Birth, none for Country of Citizenship. It is this field that gets transcribed into the Country of Citizenship box on the replacement I-94. I doubt that it will cause any...
My first EAD still has over 8 months left before expiration in late January 2005, and my AP does not expire until February. But my lawyer (big firm hired by employer) has already sent me the paperwork for renewing them.
I'm pleased that they're so proactive on my behalf, but does anyone have...
Selection bias
In the interest of reducing the problem of selection bias in this exercise, let me state that I created an account on Monday, and absolutely nothing has happened on my case since then.
No one knows for sure, since there are no AC21 regulations. My own optimistic opinion: it should not be a problem if you find a new job that is a managerial or executive position.
The EB1(c) category is for "multinational executives or managers" who are typically transferred to the U.S. on...
Godel's Incompleteness Theorem
One can probably prove a Godel's incompleteness theorem for theories of USCIS: any theory sufficiently elaborate to explain USCIS processing is either inconsistent or incomplete.
Here is my draft
I will send a letter to the Times from home tonight. But here is my draft, in case anyone else wants to adapt it for their own use.
Dear Editor,
Re: 'Wait for U.S. Residency Soars over 18 Month Span' by Nina Bernstein, April 6
It is with interest and sympathy that I...
This is the District Office
This the local District Office for St Albans, VT. I guess these are processing times for locally filed family-based I-485s. I wonder if it is in the same building as VSC.
Updated
Just found out from my employer that my I-140 was approved in January. Also that I-140 was filed a few weeks before I-485, not concurrently as I thought. Updated with correct information.
1. Yes, that is the rule. See http://travel.state.gov/hlop.html
2. I did it twice and had no problems. You need to bring with you the L1 approval notice, an employment letter, and any old passports with previous visa stamps, together with the filled-out visa forms and photo. Also it is a...
Regarding point #7, I second Dream On in wishing that they would make it clear and official that multinational executives and managers in the EB1C category can in fact use AC21 portability to change employers.
Does anyone have any knowledge, informed opinions, or wild guesses on this question?
I have received conflicting answers on this. The AC21's plain language would seem to cover everyone, and supposedly BCIS agreed with this at first. But recently I have heard that they have changed their...
