What Documents really needed for Citzenship interview

The officer has the discretion to ask for the tax documents but usually they do not do that unless there is an issue about your tax payment history. An exception is if you have a marriage-based application--in that case tax returns are mandatory.

They can delay the process but without more specific evidence of fraud I do not see how they can deny N-400. The burden of proving fraud is upon them. After 120 days you can threaten to sue them.

    naturalization approval

The response to both questions in 1. was negative. The examiner looked at the N-400 and saw that I had been to England frequently. She said jokingly you must be an Anglophile. She then asked what travel document did you use to enter the U.K. I said either a RTD or the RP. She then asked...

    New Senate Bill

As far I can tell, the Senate bill contains the provision you asked about (it is a 600+ page document). It is now up to the House and the Senate to reach an agreement (hopefully with White House prodding). Colleagues in DC say that they are seeing mixed signals from the House--so who knows.

Good News: 4 year Citizenship on Track to become law

I am doing very well too. I just finished first year of grad school and I am getting ready to file for citizenship in a few months. I think this provision is relatively uncontroversial and it has a good chance of being part of any final reform package. The bigger question is if the reform...

Good News: 4 year Citizenship on Track to become law

Hey LolaLi, Indeed long time no see. How have you been? It was a nice treat seeing your name (this is my first post in a long time). Which version of the bill are you looking at? But this point I would not worry about its placement yet. There will be drastic changes to this bill...

    Important Question about Interview

Gino, Stop worrying. What you received was a generic interview notice that the local offices mail out. They primarily deal with marriage cases and so much of the letter pertains to marriage-related issues. And you should not worry about employment letters either. It is not germane for...

obtain legal counsel. Yes it could be a big deal especially since it appears that you are still an asylee. You need the advice of an immigration attorney.
