Take two!
After reading BPBJHL042002's response I believe my case probably wasn't effected by my phone call. It all boils down to random chaos over at BCIS.
There's no orderliness to how they process cases. I am sure they're more wary of approving cases with common muslim names, like mine...
My experience!
I called the NCSC about ten days before an RFE was issued on my case. I was also told that I would get a written response in 3-4 weeks. But when the RFE was issued I was actually rather take aback thinking that now my case would take even longer, or it may even be transferred to...
Just a point of interest: My online status was never updated with the second FP, or the receipt of RFE. They only updated it with the approval.
So online update process is flakey at best!
RANDOM CHAOS!
So it can take anywhere between three weeks to upwards of two months.
I don't think there's any method or regular order to this process. Seems endemic of everything else we've seen with INS/BCIS: Random chaos!
Does online status get updated when the plastic card is ordered following stamping?
How long has it usually taken for them to update the online status regarding card ordering?
I understand that these days people are getting their cards in about two months following stamping.
Thanks in...
for stamping

Congrats!!
Congratulations!!
I am not sure if I understood you correctly, but did you go for stamping without an approval notice?
Maybe I totally missed what you were trying to say. When did you get your passport stamped with the I-551 visa?
Good luck!
Congratulations!!
Congratulations! I am still always surprised when I see September cases. It must have been sheer torture for you. I know I was a November case and lately I had gotten very frustrated.
Anyway, best of luck. And yes, this is a great site!
Approved
I've posted my approval in a separate thread, but like Maxx, I wanted to post it here as well for the benefit of the RFE expectants.
I was approved 7/16/03, and I got stamped today!
Particulars are:
Yes, I called the 800 number. When the coversation began, she was very cold and very rude if you asked me. But then I was extra super nice to her, and I basically chatted her up a bit and then she softened when she heard that I was worried that my case may have gotten lost. So she said would...
