I think idea of getting a letter from your lawyer is good enough to prove that your wife's case is pending in this case. Since your wife is not earning any thing so that should be OK. Moreover she can take EAD, 485 receipts anyway those things you are already taking with you. Good luck

You can not prove this to a normal guy outside of INS. Only INS guy can make out by looking at your file that you are under AOS and still on valid status. Otherwise there is no way you can prove. Since if you see any body can show that he/she had applied for AOS but where is the prove that it is...

You need to give more details like where do you stay and in approval letter where it ask you to come. But it is just an formality no interview nothing, just go there give your passport with approval letter, guy will ask for your EAD, AP letter and will stamp your PP.

IMO if he says that he never received the card from INS to his company, tell me one thing why would his company listen to this. If your friend has any prove that his card had been approved and he received the card but has been lost then in that case it might be acceptable to his company. EAD...

Her officer also told her that it should be done in a week or at the most in a month but it took 5 months. She did not required any name check or so, her case was very straight forward. I wish this should not happen to anyone. This wait sucks and sucks and sucks .....

I don't want to disappoint you but my wife had interview on 13th Feb and 2nd FP on same day at SFO/broadway street and she got approval on mid of July she got PP stamp on 1st Aug and received plastic card on 15th Aug. So it took almost 5 months after interview/2nd FP.
