That's correct, to go back further you need to get a copy, not transcript, and they will charge $57. This is what i had to do. Pay the 57 and you will get the copy of the return for that year in question, go to the IRs website.

Me personally - not worried about the documents/certs, I just store these in a folder, but if you travel a lot I do like those simple clear plastic covers for passports, 99 cents at CVS pharmacy stores - can't go wrong. PS. I don't work for CVS.:rolleyes:
