hello everybody,
i had my stokes interview on July 27, 2009. my husband and i were seperated and video taped. it went pretty smooth, except tht my husband and i didn't have 2 answers matching. we took a well qualified attorney w/ us. the immigration offce didn't give us his decision on whether we were approved or not. usually in other cases the immigration officer gives them his decision right after interview. this has really confused n tensed me and my husband. we took all the documentation they asked from us. we even took extra proof such as leases, joint membership and bank accounts, insurance listing me as the benificiary, receipts and bills, and photos of friends and family w/ both of us. the officer said we will get the decision through email first and then mail. till now we have no news or respond from them. my husbnd and i can't think of anything else. we can't eat or sleep. our lives aren't normal like they were since the day we got a letter for stokes interview.
if anyone has had this experience or information reguarding this pls post. it will be really appecriated. it might cool me and my husband down for a while.
thanks in advance

It;s not unusual for the 'can't make a decision yet' The IO is just getting his supervisor to give a final look before approving it. maybe because of the discrepency you described.

As your interview was on July 27th, less then a week ago, I think you just need to be patient. It will come!

I'm sure there is nothing to worry about.

What exactly is a "stokes interview"? It does not sound like a naturalization interview. Are you sure you are posting in the correct forum?

hello baikal3,
a sokes interview is a 2nd AOS interview, it's the follow-up adjustment of status interview for marrige based applications. and yes i believe i am posting my experience in the right forum. alot of people have posted their 2nd interview in this forum. a stokes interview is when the officer questions you and your husband intesively about their personal married life and sepertely becuz they wan't to know if the marriage is bonfide or faud then at the end the officer compares both wife's and husband's answers 2 see how much they match. if ur answers match a lot and if u have everything then u will most likely past. they usually suspect the couple on the 1st interview and that's why they call them for a 2nd interview. they want u to bring as many proofs as u can to prove ur marriage is bonafide. and the interview is usually video taped and lasts pretty long depending on ur case. they mention everything u need 2 bring and if it's going 2 be video taped or not.
thx for ur reply barr1025, i know it hasn't even been a week since our interview and i need 2 calm down and wait, but we are really scared if they suspect us. i don't want my husband 2 be blamed 4 fraud marriage, becuz it's not true. we both married in good faith and love each other. were just scared of being seperated, nothing else. if they deport me and my husband has 2 face all the consequences then it's obviously going 2 tense my husband and especially me. i hope they send us the letter of approval quick, or if they don't then they won't have 2 punish my husband 4 fraud marrige which is completely false. i hope everyone passes through this dreadful experience.
thx again

You're posting in the right forum, but not in the right section of the forum. This section is for citizenship. You'll get more help if you post in the section pertaining to I-485/Adjustment of Status.
