Well, I'm going to take the alternative view and say that it'll (hopefully) move up again soon. None of us really know what they're going to do, but Oct. 1st is a whole new fiscal year for the gov't with a whole new bunch of visa numbers. My guess is that they'll start adjudicating cases again...
Do you really mean 2006? If 2006 I would definitely inquire about it, if 2007 there's not really much point yet. I also wouldn't put much store in the published processing times. It seems to be pretty random as to when approvals are given out - I would have thought an EB1 from Aug. 2006 would...
Are you checking using just the receipt #? You won't see anything if you do that - I was doing it for a while and wondering why other people were seeing updates. You need to create a portfolio for yourself, and then log in each time. That way you can see the "last updated date" or LUD. Not...
I'm no lawyer, nor am I an immigration expert, but I would definitely NOT sign something that you know to be untrue. Especially now when you know the officials are coming tomorrow. I would refuse to sign. Sounds like you need your own lawyer too.
I'd also explain to the DOL officials what...
Well, that's what I think, but I was trying not to be too shallow. ;) They do at least pay me fairly well so I shouldn't complain too much.
Thanks everyone for the info. on working/not working while on a gc. I guess my friend is telling me incorrect info. The government jobs thing isn't...
Thanks bharatpremi. I have good employment conditions but am bored/there are no promotion prospects so I would like a change. It'd be nice to have full freedom to do what I want to, although I do realize I have to stay within the same employment field for a few years due to the gc.
Why do I...
OK, so there are a lot of posts on here about people changing jobs once 180 days from their I-485 application dates have passed/they've got their AC21. But I was talking to a friend of mine who just did his citizenship interview and he was saying that it is better to wait at least two years...
If you've got two application numbers, it looks like you're in the system twice. Therefore I think you need to sort this out with USCIS first. You don't want to just cancel one and have them think you've abandoned the application. Seems like you need to get them to mark one as a closed file...
I have wondered what happens as well. I also have a common name. I know they do take your date of birth into account, so I hope that will help somewhat. I guess we'll see if we both end up stuck in name check!
jc-gc - a friend of mine recently got his citizenship. He had to reschedule his FP appt and it took week to get a new one and delayed things so he got his citizenship months later than his wife. He later learned that some people were just walking in to the USCIS local office and getting them...
If you're from a country that sends a lot of immigrants to the US, like India, China, Mexico and Philippines, then the priority dates that are current may be behind other people's. This is because there's a limit of green cards per country. So you may be looking at someone from a "rest of the...
I see two people on trackitt with FP's from Nebraska and notice dates after 6/7/07. One has a notice date of 6/14 and the other 6/20. So some people are getting them, it seems.
I'm still waiting. :(
My attorneys paid the $325 fee and the $70 fee on separate checks, so I guess there must be a rule about paying them separately. Maybe there's a way they could refund you the $395 and then you could write them separate checks? It seems ridiculous but would not suprise me if this is a reason...
Hey, Trackitt is awesome, by the way! I hope everyone puts their info. in there.
Mirage - don't know if you are still filing or not, or if you stopped after the July 2nd update, but you should include a separate check for $70 for the fingerprints. Sorry, don't know the answers to your other...
I saw on Trackitt that someone who filed on June 8th just got their receipts on July 3rd. I filed on June 6th, and my receipt arrived on June 25th. So Nebraska is pretty slow, it seems.
It seems that the Texas filers are getting/have got fingerprint appointments, but so far I haven't seen any from Nebraska. Is anyone getting FP appointments? I'm getting worried because I have a trip out of town planned for the end of July/beginning of August, and it would just be my luck for...
