Well..i was under the impression that Switzerland not only accepts RTD,it will not even require you to have a visa if you use your RTD:confused: I could be wrong wrong!

Well said,Atique.i've been worrying too much about this issue(sooo afraid of visiting my old parents because of the fear and paranoia seen in here and on other forums).but i guess it all depends on each individual's case.

Yep,if you submit any original documents you can kiss them goodbye as you will never see ém again! Regarding your legal status during your asylum i think being out of status has one advantage which is if the IO denies your case you will be referred to IJ,but if your visa is still valid you...

I echo what CI Asylee said! reentering the US coming back from COP is not the real issue here. My only concern is the citizenship interview(i also never visited my COP).

Congrats! i think what mesbahul said is true.i know people who applied for their GC in 05/06 and they are still waiting,while i applied in Jan of this year and got my GC in under 6 months!

Some people did some similar stuff,some even go directly to their COP with their GC and NP!I haven't done either but thinking seriously about a safe way to visit my family which i haven't seen in over 9 years:( Good luck and keep us posted about your experience!

Good luck! things went pretty fast in my case...i did my FP in less than a month from my RD,and i got my GC in under 6 months! ya never know it could happen to you.

Well,good point..if one is not planning on becoming a US citizin then it's fine to visit COP as many times as one wishes,but for those of us who want to be citizins it's different.we all wish one day we could go see our families,but at the same time we don't wanna risk our chances of becoming US...

Welcome back,and thanks for posting your experience of visiting your COP.as i understand most of us here are not very concerned about reentering the US coming back from COP(especially GC holders).the real concern however is the citizinship IV since you will have to answer to why did you visit...

I know that some countries don't stamp your passport,but many do including mine unfortunate:( ly.

The problem with visiting COP is not when reentering the US,the problem will be in your citizinship interview when asked about it.
