In my case the letter from editors apparently worked. Emails are not as good as letters for some people.

I just got an email today that an RFE has been sent on my 485. It will be a couple of days before I know what it is about. The good thing is that the case is being reviewed, the bad thing is that I don't know what it is requesting for.

My 485 was concurrently filed with 140 last november. I got the finger print done this Jan before my 140 was approved. Hope it will be processed soon.

My NIW was received 5/15/06, the processing date is 5/11/06 now so it all makes sense.

Lawyers are usually conservative. Mine was like that too. I don't blame them for trying to keep higher success rate and reputation. However, it is our best interest to try it. See my approval today.

It does not hurt to try. There are many possibilities. If you can get your petition to TSC, you have maybe 50% chance. Even NSC is not completely hopeless. You may send in a NIW as back up but don't count on it. The retrogression may take years.
