Calm Down and stop driving yourself crazy. Almost immigrant has a "war story" with the least efficient agency on the planet. Your gree card is already approved. You will get it when they clear up whatever problem that plagues the BIO machine. Go and enjoy your life.

It depends on the specifics of the asylum application, country conditions and the reason(s) for your trip. There is no per se rule one way or the other. People would be seriously mistaken if you thought that the USCIS did not care about this anymore the minute they issued them the green card.

The distinction between asylees and refugees for citizenship purposes has been the law for over 25 years.

Citizenship is a very important benefit and they will review your file with a fine comb. They did in my case and talked about my travels to countries bordering on country of persecution (they just wanted to make sure that I had not entered that country (I had not).

The Government HAS to revoke the green card in situations this like. It happened to the deputy minister of my country and his family too.
