I agree with Cher1980, you have to give us more info....What was your husband status when you got merried? Did you apply for AOS? How long has he been out of status?

When was your interview? Can you post your timeline? I just wonder how long it might take for name check....I reas about people waiting for 12-20 months after the interview....Why some people get cleared right away and some have to wait for years???

I had the same problem. I was on F-1 before I got married. I had SSN, but couldn't change my name untill I got EAD. Even if you file I-130 and I-485 and get Notice of Action, still you'll have to wait for EAD. You can try to do it through school, I dont' know if it's going to work, 'cos my I-20...
