    Senator's help

Does contacting a senator speed up your case? Or does it have no effect. I have just submitted an inquiry form to my senator. Thanks.

    Why do Fingerprints expire?

"the government computer systems does not have the capacity to hold the prints for an indefenite amount of time." This makes no sense at all. What is the point of the FBI having a fingerprint database that self-destructs after 15 months?

    Why do Fingerprints expire?

Thanks, Cinta, I knew there had to be a reasonable explanation. Luckily, I still have all ten fingers (or is that 8 fingers and 2 thumbs?)

    Why do Fingerprints expire?

Yes, but why don't they just run another check on your fingerprints - why do they need to retake the prints?

    Medical Test Help

These test are not medcially necessary for your health, therefore most insurance will not cover them. They are just another expense in getting the green card, like legal fees.

    Why do Fingerprints expire?

Can anyone explain why fingerprints expire and have to be taken again? Or is this just more beaurocratic stupidity?

    Second FP Notice

Just received 2nd FP notice to be done in March. Does completion of this 2nd FP have any influence on the approval - can it speed it up? How long have others waited for approval after the 2nd FP? Hong3 RD May 31, 2002 EAC 02-206*****

    EAD - electronic or paper?

Thanks, Cooler I have come to the same conclusion and will file the paper rather than the online EAD. No fingerprints, no making appointments, no line-ups - better in every way.Leave it to the BCIS to make e-filing harder than by mail.

    EAD - electronic or paper?

Also, it seems that even if you e-file, you still have to mail supporting documents to the service centers. All in all, it is easier just to file the paper form.

    EAD - electronic or paper?

$14.00 for photos! That's a rip-off. I go to a little store in Queens NY that charges $5.00. Still, you may be right - why pay for photos and priority mail if you don't have to. It all depends on how much hassel there would be at the INS center. Also, by mail you do not need to send fingerprints.

    EAD - electronic or paper?

I would much rather not go to a center. It is a lot simpler for me to get some photos taken at the corner store. I think I will send the paper.

    EAD - electronic or paper?

Which is the faster option? Do you have to go to an immigration center for the paper EAD as well as for the electronic? My second EAD did not involve going to a center. Any advice?

How often do we all check online status?

In my youth I did it five times a day no problem. Now I can only manage twice a week.

My mortgage application, that is. Who cares about the stupid green card? It is the most boring process in the world, and the BCIS is the most boring bureaucracy. In fact, lets have a contest. Who can name anything more boring than the immigration process? By the way, you obviously don't need the...
