Interview in 6 weeks - did not work for sponsoring company after GC

send them to dig around in other direction? My rationale was that checking "3-year married to US citizen" would send IO to dig around towards proof of mariage, as result distracting from layoff history (that is my primary goal). Or you do not see it as distraction factor from the...

Interview in 6 weeks - did not work for sponsoring company after GC

Does it help with 3-year married to US citizen Congratulations! I am in the same boat - Consular processing, layoff mid-way :) Would it help to apply N-400 as "3-year married to US-citizen" vs regular 5-year resident? (qualify for both) Any difference in the resulting Natr. certificate?

Question about Tax returns with N-400

is it ok not to mail-in required documents, but bring to interview? it looks you are trying not to send tax returns. However in every listed combination of the requred documents a tax return is required. The minimum set (in addition to the "regular 5 year resident") is marriage cetrtificate...

Difference between regular and marriage-based N-400

That's what I was thinking. As for extra docs in minimum/required set, the marriage-based only requires copy of spouse's passport plus 3-year tax transcripts (which they could ask for anyway). So I assume there is NO DISADVANTAGES whatsoever of filing as marriage-based? Any post-citizenship...

Difference between regular and marriage-based N-400

What is the difference of applying for Citizenship based on 3-year marriage and regular 5-year residence? I qualify for both, but need to select only one checkmark on N400 application. Which basis is safer/faster/better? The GC was employment-based (will raise red flags of leaving...

File N400 as employment or marriage based?

Please advise how to file N-400: as 5-year resident or as 3-year married to a US citizen (only one checkmark can be selected on the form). What is the difference? Facts: 1) Employment-based GC, US resident for 6 years now. Problem: was laid off by the sponsoring employer before...

    AR11 - Change of Address

Is it Ok to postdate - write as "todays date" a year or two yearlier (2003)? (date of the actual move) Is any "history" information checked during AR-11 update? E.g. One would not want the GC history checked due to "change employer earlier". That is one of the reason of not sending AR-11...

    W2 requirements and Canadian Immigration

I would also submit several PAYSTUBS for the "low W-2 years" that show high hourly rate/salary at the time when you were paid, along with explanation of unpaid "bench" between the projects. Paystubs also will show other benefits (medicals insurance, etc) paid as part of your salary.
