As far as i know the automatic revalidation is removed by the INS even if you have the valid I-94 in 18 aug 2003....lots of schools give wrong information, if you want more info do check in department of state website

Its better changing the status in USA, bcoz if you go to consulate its hard to prove that u are not intending to immigrate, because u was on h1 before.I also changed my status internally here at vermont it just took 20 days for the change of status.
when she get her H4 she will get new I-94 attached with the h4 document,yaa usually they ask for the copy of visa during the COS, just send them the h4 approval and her f2 visa which is there in the passport and attach a covering lettering explaining the above reason..I hope it works
