Brian,
Some ceremonies in LA are held in a courthouse, with a max of 75 people. I thought perhaps those were for the name changes. But I read somewhere that all ceremonies in LA are conducted by a judge so maybe my theory is wrong. Nevertheless, we cannot tell how backed up the schedule for...
One good example why one should post as much details as possible when asking for advices.
If that's the reason he needs the number, we could've advised him that it's not necessary. I think there's a part where the form asks if you were naturalized through your parents and if yes, if you...
I did a walk-in just because it's more convenient.
I went to the ASC at 8am and went to work a little late instead of missing a whole day's work because my schedule was in the middle of the day, and on my job's busiest day of the month.
I didn't expect it to expedite my case. It also...
OMG, I wouldn't want to turn in my most important documents to incompetent federal employees such as that one!
What's the best way to apply for a passport then?
Thanks for the replies!
A judicial oath seem more attractive to me, even if it delays the process by a few weeks. My DO is Los Angeles where there's 2 ceremonies held in a day with 6000 people in each ceremony. I suppose there's considerably less people in a courtroom.
Thanks for the...
If, in my application, I didn't indicate that I wanted a name change, but while waiting for the interview had a change of heart, can I request for a name change during the interview?
I've been thinking about it for a while. I'm sticking to my maiden last name but I want to change my first...
"There must be a way.. " ... but shouldn't HE be the one trying to find that way? He's the one inviting you to stay in his country, then he should find ways for you to stay here legally. Let him do the work. It will do him some good to get educated with US immigration.
1-800 2nd level call
My interview is on July 30th :)
I called 1-800 and said I was worried that my Interview Letter and/or Request for Document Letter might have been stolen because we had mail theft in the neighborhood last week. The CSR didn't have access to anything other than what's on...
Wow, that was fast. Good luck!
I wonder if the walk-in FP somehow pushed your case forward... Looking at your timeline, your scheduled FP is June 4th. I've never seen a case where interview letter was received before the FP schedule.
If the schedule falls before your wife is able to join you, I suggest showing up with as much evidence of bona fide marriage as you can. This time, you have to tell the IO the reason your wife is unable to make it. If you're lucky, your case will be adjudicated based on the evidences you have...
No. Entry date and exit date do not count as days outside of the US.
Read Bobsmyth's post.
Page 24 of the Guide :
"Generally, partial days spent in the United States count as whole days spent in the United States."
I admire your honesty. I hope I will never be in the same position, but if I were, I would be very tempted to say no if asked if my marital status has changed given the fact that it was not formal or legal yet.
Form N445 requires a legal documentation of the separation. In your situation...
