In foreign trips, do exit and entry dates count as days INSIDE the US?

If you leave USA on 6/24 and come back on 6/27, how many days out of USA does it count as? Is it 2 days out, 3 days out, or 4? Simple subtraction gives you 3 days (6/27 minus 6/24), counting both days as INSIDE the US gives you 2, and counting both days as OUTSIDE the US gives you 4. What's the right answer?

I didn't calculate this way. I have made 7 trips and the total number of days per my calculation were 249. According to this calculcation it is 242.

Can I take the corrected sheet to the interview and what is the impact of the total number of days.

Don't worry, the IO will make the calculation of the trips for you at interview.

I'm not sure if I counted it correctly with my application. I counted the departure and arrival as out of the U.S. since they're not 24 hours total, I'm not sure if I did it right?

Why worry if you overcount your days outside USA? If USCIS correct,
then you become more eligible.

Use TimeAndDate.com

Use timeanddate.com to calculate the correct number of days.
Only 1 day counts out of entry and exit but not both.
Don't use excel.

No. Entry date and exit date do not count as days outside of the US.

Read Bobsmyth's post.

"Generally, partial days spent in the United States count as whole days spent in the United States."

I also overcounted my trips to be on the "safe" side. Anyway, I was well outside any continuous residence trouble, so I didn't mind counting some extra days. The important thing was that I wrote the correct dates for exit and entry. Even in that case, some people don't keep accurate records of trips (I did because I knew I would need this for the N-400 down the line) so then you just complete to the best of your knowledge and without purpose of hiding a long absence from the US.

I remember reading on this forum that you count either the departure day or the arrival day NOT both.
So in OP's case it should be 3 days???
