yes .. but once Ur spouse uses EAD then he/she would need AP to reenter... It is easy to do EAD online .. but you need to go for biometrics. If you do it on paper then there is no need for biometrics. For AP you need to send your pictures.

You can file 485 yourself .. the form is simple .. but why risk. Applying EAD/AP is upto you.. but since you have h1b upto 2010.. you can save some $ by not applying. Only thing about EAD is that Ur spouse can work .. and if you want to do some part time job then it can be possible with EAD...
