Hi
If you receive the FP letter for the date that you know you cannot make just go to your local fp agency on some earlier date and ask them if they can do your fp. Also wouldn't hurt to bring the proof of why can't make the scheduled time. This same thing happed to me (had the exam at the...
Hi all,
I have just called BCIS and they told me that they are processing the cases up to 2/1/99 ,and when I told them that BCIS itself has updated the cut off date to 11/16/99 they said no no it is 2/1/99, and that the date 11/16/99 means nothing. well this doesn't sound very promising but i...
Hi Gilbert,
Thanks for letting us now about this. Always hearing useful info from you.
Could you please let us know here on the forum when the lawyers receive the response. I am sure a lot of us here would like to now once and for all what the official take on this issue is.
thx.
11/16/99 sounds very promising. However seems like at least on this forum no new approvals with RD past 2/99 have been reported. If someone has been approved with RD past 2/99 please let us know (I guess unfortunately processing and approving are not the same :(.
Hi folks, as we all know BCIS has moved the processing date to 4/1/99 (as per www.immigration.com) with the latest notice that they are processing cases up to 11/16/99.
Is there anyone with the date after 2/1/99 that has received news from them? I typed in several case#'s (including mine)...
I called NSC yesterday and the lady said if the address that was written in the I-485 application hasn't changed then there is no need to submit any additional form. however, she also said that they are now processing applications with the cutoff date of 2/1/99 (she quoted the dates INS issued...
Hi RAsylee,
Do you know if a person who has changed the address after the asylum approval but before applying for the green card also has to submit this paperwork to bcis? I have received all correspondence at my current address (fp notice, rtd's, ead's and the receipt for i-485) except for...
I went to Mexico for a couple of weeks on a RTD two months before applying for GC. When I applied for GC I had accumulated well over 1 yr of living in the States on the asylee status but now I am worried because someone said that INS wants to see 1 yr of being continuously in the US as in the...
Congratulations !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear friends, I am sooooo happy for both of you. I know I can't wait to receive my GC so I can only imagine the feeling you had when you read the new online message. Best of luck and please share your future experiences with the rest of the gang here...
Can some please clarify this:
Asylees are eligible to apply for the adjustment of the status after 1 year of being granted asylum. Someone mentioned that the count towards that one year is reset every time the person leaves the country. I looked up the instructions for i485 and it doesn't say...
Gilbert (or someone else how knows), could you please point to some document saying that it is enough to accumulate one year, even if it is not one continuous year.
The previous messages stating that is has to be one continuous year have definitely brought up something I didn't know about...
I don't agree with this. LRP can use RTD as long as LPR is asylum/refugee based. Maybe someone else can comment too, jsut to be safe. Also if you travel with RTD you don't need Advance Parole (I think).
Re: Next fiscal year
Nov 99 would certainly be great news for many of us.
Like someone said fiscal year ends pretty soon and I am worried because I have filed in March 99, FP in April 03 and have received no news from BCIS since then.
I have personally used the A# for the grad school applications and fellowships. No questions asked-all schools accepted me as if I were a PR. I did the same as an undergraduate and there was also no problem.
Hi
I have the exact same RD and FP, but neither have I received a letter of any kind nor has the online message changed....
RAsylee, before the online message was updated to reflect that a letter is about to be sent, did it say someting about taking 580-610 days for processing? Also, if...
Re: Re: Approval...finally
Hi,
can someone please clarify this:
What are the consequences of renewing the passport? I thought that should an asylee somehow manage to renew the passport, that this person accepts the citizenship of that country and no longer needs asylum in the States. In...
