You will not. And even if you are asked, the answer is easy: "I intend to return to Canada when this status expires."

A TN status doesn't permit you to operate your own US based company. I don't know if a status is required to run a Canadian company while residing in the USA, you'll have to look into that. But I do know that a TN status would not give that permission.

My last 2 TNs have been with emailed support letters. You should be fine. Even if not, then you waste a few days while they fedex you a wet-ink signed letter. No big deal.

You want to apply for an I-192 non-immigrant waiver. Be sure to describe that your purpose is B1 (business) B2 (Pleasure) and to apply for TN status. Border officers will not process your TN application if they discover you are inadmissible and you do not have a waiver with a "TN" purpose.

If you have the freedom to do so, then taking your application to the border is a far superior way to do it. At the border you have much more control over the interaction, and you get an adjudication within an hour (vs. weeks or months).
