if you're number is current in october, u can send in ur application today. it takes about 3-6 months from the day USCIS chicago lockbox receives ur application for you to have ur interview. if the interview is successful, u will get ur greencard in 2-4wks after interview.
if u read his timeline, you would see that the walk-in FP was in 2006.
Like he said, it might not make any difference since its even taking as little as 3 months to get an N-400 application approved depending on your location.
They think so cuz parents in third world countries cannot afford to pay to come to the US unless they have someone who would sponsor them and that person is usually their kid who resides in the US.
go to british airways and make a flight reservation and stick it with ur visa application. Thats all you need. DO NOT PAY FOR A TICKET UNTIL U HAVE THE VISA IN UR PASSPORT AND IN UR HAND.
U should be good. If the interviewer asks u about ur work history, just tell him u were working your 20hrs/wk on campus and that would be it. I wouldnt worry about it.
congrats. Its sad that the consular officer had to ask you stupid questions like that. Who in the world knows what 8x7 is right on top of their head or wat a verb is and with an example.
U re absolutely right.
The other thing i would suggest is, if you have advance parole, i would just go ahead and do consular processing and for some reason ur application is denied or u re put under administrative processing, u can come back on ur advance parole.
the immigrant visa is their greencard. They will get a plastic card (greencard) just like the one u had when u were a permanent resident in the mail a few days after they arrive the US. ur dad would probably get the visa
they have not been approved. I just realized that their applications have been cancelled by their sister who is d US citizen. Bummer
parents are planning on applying for them by next wk.
