Walk-in FP

Has anyone done a walk-in FP at the nearest ASC upon receiving the NOA? I did this for my green card application a few years ago and had no issues. As soon as I received the NOA for my I-130, 1-485 etc, I just went to the nearest ASC and got my FP done.

Anyone do this for a N-400? Anybody foresee any problems?

With the speed of today's N-400 processing it doesn't make any difference. Also, nowadays it is fairly easy to get refused to do early FP, even if you try to give them a reasonable excuse. There are instructions to do FP at a later day if you can't make your original appointment. Unless you have the ASC really close I wouldn't waste time trying the early FP.

My 2 cents.

Ok, that piece of advice is ironic coming from you seeing that you did a walk-in FP.

Thanks anyway.

if u read his timeline, you would see that the walk-in FP was in 2006.
Like he said, it might not make any difference since its even taking as little as 3 months to get an N-400 application approved depending on your location.

Understood. The reason I was asking is because work keeps me real busy and I'm always in danger of not being able to keep the FP appointment. So I want to find the first chance to get some time off from work to get the FP done. I think I'll try a walk-in. If they deny, then I'll just wait for the appointment. Thanks.

Well, tried walking in this morning with the NOA. I was denied and they said they needed the FP/RFE notice. Apparently the FP letter has some information they need to scan to do the FP. The NOA does not have it.

Can anyone enlighten me on what extra information is in the FP notice, other than the appointment date?

Pity, the ASC was dead, empty. I could've got it done in no time

Yeah they NEED your letter, they put a stamp on mine and wrote stuff on it and I think, I can't remember correctly now they did something with the bar code (could have been scanning)......

Thanks. Yeah, that's what I was told. I did a walk-in FP with the NOA of my I-485, I-130 during my PR process a few years ago. I guess things have changed.
