Same thing happened to me,and surprisingly i got my case approved in under 6 months! good luck.

I have noticed that myself.i got my approval in less than 6 months,while a friend of mine still waiting(eventhough he filed in june of 2006) 6 months before me! I think i heard somewhere that those who filed this year will get their GC in around 6 months (that if their name check is cleard).

I too was granted asylum by IJ after more than 6 years of overstaying my visa.it's very difficult but doable.you have to have a very strong case,lots of supporting evidence and a good lawer.good luck!

Hi,eddy 240..cost of medical in NYC is around $175,and you don't need to bring any forms as your doctor will take care of everything.The only thing you have to bring is yourself and your wallet:D ! good luck.

Ok,quick update..i finally recieved my GC in the mail today.Man,what a great feeling.Now my celebration is complete:D !

So,what is the final verdict on renewing NP for LPR(given that the case was not against the government).Is it ok to renew or not?!!

This is the case with my GC.i've been waiting for my card since my approval on Jul 6,and after several calls and inquiries i was told that my card came back as "undeliverable" eventhough i haven't change my mailing address in 4 years:confused: .the IO verified my address and ordered redelivery...

I did call them twice,but nothing happened!they keep saying i have to wait for 30 days before i inquire about my case!

Ok,one more question..you said that after having your GC it's much easier/safer to go to COP,how do you do it without raising suspicion?!!

I got mine after about 5 weeks,but that's not always the case as you said some get it after a month some take more than a year.it's just the luck of the draw! good luck to you.

Thanx Chang1428,i filed with NSC,then got transfered to TSC,then to NYC local office,then back to TSC and finally to NSC where i got approved!It is amazing,with all that transfering back and forth i was so mad and frustrated,but thank god things turned out great.Believe me with the way my case...
