It should be fine...
According to my lawyer, you don\'t become a GC holder merely by virtue of approval. You still have to go through the stamping in order to be considered a fullfledged GC holder. And, since travel outside US is permitted on a valid H1B visa or AP during the 485 stages...
Probably not, but...
You will need to take steps to remove the "Need INS authorization to work" (don\'t remember the exact words) clause that is printed on the SS card.
According to your attorney...
The INS folks are gonna get paid for doing nothing for the next several months? I bet Congress would love to see something like that happen so that the people can screw them upside down for wasting tax money like that. Get real, dude!! I really wonder why everybody...
What\'s with the new "security screening?"
I found no information on the security screening on ILW.com, AILA.org,

AC21 made the rollovers effective October 2000. The 1999 + 2000 you are talking about is a "catch-up" effort from the previous years. That is SURELY not the end all of rollovers.

Patience :)
Shantanu obviously has wrong information he strongly believes. We are just trying to reason with him and thereby make him see that the information he has at hand is incorrect.
