Should I use paper clip to include my photo with N-400?

Put them in an envelope or other enclosure and paper clip the envelope to the application. Also take some spare photos to the interview. Apparently they sometimes get lost and having spares with you prevents the IO from delaying the decision on your case.

US Passport - How long to get US passport?

The kids GC's were submitted with their passport application and returned by the passport agency along with the passports. My understanding is that only USCIS can take back the GCs. We have also applied via N600 for Certificates of Citizenship. I believe that we will return the kids GC's when we...

My state don't provide transcripts but did provide a letter stating I did not owe any payments. IO did not ask me for anything except ID, GC, and passport.

security clearance / dual citizenship question

The answer is: it depends! It depends on the agency issuing the clearance, on the level of the clearance, on the countries involved in the dual/multiple citizenship, and on other factors such as how long you have been a naturalized citizen. Try google search "security clearance dual citizenship"...

    Recvd passport missing Naturalization cert.

Many people in the forum report receiving their nat certificate separately, with the certificate arriving a few days later. So this is normal. However the Houston office just returned my wife's passport and certificate in the same envelope. So it does not seem to be a standard process.

Kansas City MO - N-400 Timeline

Don't know about Topeka, but at Kansas City they did not check or limit guests, but there was also not much space at the back of the court. Probably enough space for 2 to 3 guests per citizen plus some extra.

Disconnect between Passport Agencies and US Postal office passport clerks

It depends on the person accepting your application. At our post office they accepted the on-line forms without question, and stapled the sheet protector containing the certificate.

    continuous residence papers

What do the N-400 instructions say regarding supporting paperwork for this question? I might attach a brief explanatory note to explain your answer eg stating you maintained US ties etc, and state that you will bring the papers proving your position to the interview.

    Domestic Violence related interview experience

The LexisNexis site www.martindale.com is a good source to find lawyers for any reason. Search for lawyers with Immigration and Criminal Law as their area of practice in your location here. If they are peer reviewed they will have a rating of AV, BV, or CV as explained here. However just because...

cutelilmonkey...For the Kansas City court house the prospective citizens had to be there at 12:30pm for a 2pm ceremony. I recommend you call the court house directly as they should know when the actual ceremony talks place since the judge will be scheduled for that time, and they will also be...

Oath ceremony- any idea how long it takes (typically)

Kansas City was much longer. We had to arrive before 12:30pm and did not leave till 3pm, 2.5 hours later. That included processing time, Oath ceremony, photos in the courtroom and registering to vote.

For the N-445 sign your name and date it for the day of the Oath ceremony. You are supposed to complete it on the day itself. For the passport applications do NOT sign it, since you must sign it in the presence of the person accepting your application after they have checked your...

Big mistake in filling for N-400??

The N-400 instructions state: "If you are applying based on five years as a Lawful Permanent Resident ... you may apply for naturalization up to 90 days before you meet the ''continuous residence'' requirement." By my calculations 90 days before 9/25 is 6/27. PLEASE CHECK my calculations...

in your own objective opinion, which is better? US citizenship or EU citizenship?

As a newly dual US/EU national my reason for gaining US citizenship was because the USA is now my home and I intend to make it my home for the future. On that basis I didn't want to remain a non-citizen.

Traffic tickets and naturalization (threads merged)

Setting aside naturalization you must address that ticket. Since they mailed it to you they believe it is your vehicle. You cannot ignore it. You will either have to pay it or dispute it with the originating department. The risk is that sometime in the future this could cause problems in NYC...
