Re: 140-485 What's wrong with the threads in the I-140 and AOS / 485 (or CP) forums at this site (just click on "Immigrant Visas (Green Cards)" at the top of this page)? ETA

Re: Email System To use the email system send email to LCSTATUS03@doleta.gov with the employer phone number used on the LC application in the body of the email, e.g. Employer Phone 7038612234 I've had success with the above using nothing else (no subject). You might need to make sure...

Re: Yee haa !! Congrats! xls is updated. I fixed a few problems with it while I was at it (the elapsed days since DOL reception somehow became hard-coded numbers (e.g. in my case it was showing 22 days -- I'm actually up to 28 now :P). I also added formulas to automatically track the...

Re: odds Here's my understanding (anyone, please feel free to point out problems/issues/ommisions). The biggest risk compared to AOS is that your position could be terminated. If this happens before your CP interview is complete you are back to square one (including having to leave the...

Re: planning on going the CP route Hi gc121802. I'm assuming we'd end up at the consulate in Montreal (which is another plus since this is only a 10 hour drive away from DC) and since I have family there. ETA

I'm curious as to whether anyone is planning on going the CP route (as opposed to AOS / 485)? In my own case, CP seems like the best bet. While nothing is guaranteed, our company seems to be doing well (we're actually recruiting currently) and with AOS taking 2.5 - 4 years vs about 12 months...

Hi folks. FYI, I just got through also (the line was busy the first 3x I tried then I got through and got about 10 rings before it picked up). It appears that my case isn't in the system yet -- is this normal given that VA SESA forwarded my case to Philly DOL just over 2 weeks ago...

Hi all. Just heard from VA SESA that my RIR (EB2) application has been forwarded to Philly (updated xls file attached). I haven't managed to get through to the status line yet, although I expect my info might not be available yet (I'll update things asap). Got my fingers crossed -- doesn't...

Proving that I am "uniquely qualified"

I would also appreciate feedback on the above. From where I stand (not being an INS employee / immigration lawyer), your first paragraph makes complete sense to me. Not caring where the experience comes from (as long as it is applicable to the job towards which it is being applied) seems...

    Virginia SESA Tracker

Hi all. First off, thanks to the people who have been providing information on this site -- its been a big help. I thought ppl might get some use out of the following. I'm currently going the RIR route here in Virginia (Chantilly area so presumably its being handled by the N.Va...

Proving that I am "uniquely qualified"

Thanks for your reply! Everything you said made sense but I think that maybe we are talking about 2 different things? The following scenario might make my point more clear (or not :)): Lets say I'm hired to fill a relatively junior position at company A under an H1B. I'm at A for 4...

Proving that I am "uniquely qualified"

Is it just me or does this rule not make any sense? This seems to do nothing other than penalize the sponsoring company since, were the employee to apply to any other company, he presumably could use any/all experience gained at the first company? Mike
