    I-485 denied please help!!!!!

Once again, I have to echo Al Southerner's opinion here 100%. My husband and I spent hours trying to figure out the "descheduling" letter we got just prior to our interview and its rationale. We'd heard many of the rationales below prior to our decision to just go ahead and go. 1. USCIS just...

    Birth Certificate for Interview

We did not have an "original", but my husband had a notarized copy/replicate from his home country's ministry of health. If it is not the original, it should be in some way "officialized". They will ask for it, but we had no problems with the official replication of the letter of birth.

    273 Days to Green Card

Well, I guess it could have been worse. The wait nearly killed our marriage several times over :-) I would not recommend anyone to file AOS in Tennessee. We had no issues, no RFEs, no delays except the Memphis office is slooowwww. Our interview was horrid. I had all our joint paperwork but...

    AOS Interview Timeline

Finally Here's our full timeline. I was afraid to post it until we had the Green Card in hand. No RFEs, no problems with name check - it just took what seemed forever. USC Married to Italian on B2 D.O. Memphis April 28, 2006 - Married May 28, 2006: I-130, I-485, I-765 mailed to...

    arrested and jailed before marriage

I cannot agree more than 100% with this statement. My husband and I just went through an interrogation, not an interview, last week. I still can't talk about it. Our case was approved, but not until the officer took his nine pounds of flesh and seemed to enjoy doing it. I understand now why...

    interview canceled

We also got a notice of interview descheduling (via email.. NO PAPER notice in the US Mail). We went to the interview anyway on Wednesday and nothing was mentioned about the "Descheduling". The case was approved. Unless you have actually received a LETTER in the US Mail, go to the interview...

    Approved :)

Congrats Jillian - you've been waiting as long as I have for a Memphis interview. Am going for ours next Wed, even tho they emailed a Deschedule Notice. We never got a paper copy, so I'm ignoring it and going anyway. Enjoy your Freedom !!

    Interview DEscheduled !

Here's my theory: Some cretin hit the wrong button on a batch of files. Too many people just on this forum have gotten the same internet message yet gone on to have successful interviews. As usual, right hand doesn't know what the left is doing at Immigration. I'm going to do like the others...

    Interview DEscheduled !

Thanks NeShawn - did a search and found the "descheduling thread". If I don't get a paper notice, I'll ignore the email as well and just go since all travel arrangements have been made. If nothing else, will maybe find out what is going on.

    Interview DEscheduled !

I'm seriously about to blow a gasket. Nine freaking months and now we get this after both of us have requested/been granted time off from our full time jobs, after airline tickets have been bought and paid for, motel room has been booked, etc. - AND, I have arranged to take a NEW JOB the...

    Marriage doomed

Yeah - I guess it's only the person who contracted with the Federal Govt to be responsible for the immigrant who has to worry about liability while the immigrant is out there "hauling ass without hindrance". That is certainly his decision. It was his decision to stay here on a tourist visa...

    Marriage doomed

You're absolutely right, Kevin.. my bad on the misquoting ! I was actually trying to get to the point about citizenship not being a "right" and went about it the wrong direction. Thanks to you and Sarr for getting that straightened out !

    Marriage doomed

This has really been a very interesting thread. More interesting, even, is trying to read between the lines of what has NOT been said. In the original post, we have what appears on the surface to be a fairly common occurrence: two people have married and said marriage is not working out. But...

A very Sad day at Infopass!

Bren - I am horrified by this, by the complete and total incompetency of the USCIS and the total power they have to WRECK someone's life who is honestly trying (AND PAYING!!) to gain legal residence in this country. I know you are in shock, but do not give up. You need to fight back on this and...
