Processing time for green card based on asylum

Okay guys, I'd like to share my timeline of I-485 and WOM.

July 2024 - asylum granted by Immigration Judge.
Nov 2024 - Filed I-485
Dec 2024 - Fingerprints Taken
October 2025 - WOM filed
Jan 13, 2026 - RFE for medical
Jan 20, 2026 - Second RFE for medical (because civil surgeon made mistakes in first one *sigh*)
Jan 29, 2026 - New Card Being Produced
Jan 30, 2026 - Case Approved

Now hopefully I'll get the actual GC in mail in the next 2-3 weeks.

wow, congratulations! looks like WOM still does work

It does, indeed.
Congrats! Do you think it’s too early to file a WOM after 11 months of waiting? I want to file when I reach 1 year of waiting, but worried it would be too early since the waiting time is 20.5. I don’t want any chance of them rejecting my application. Also did they ask for a RFE of 1 year of residence after asylum granted? thank you.

There is a risk they might ask to dismiss.
Just because it worked for someone it doesn't mean it will work for you, or the opposite, just because it didn't work for someone it doesn't mean it won't for you.

There's luck involved and also find a good attorney who specializes in madamus lawsuits. Some attorneys say 1 year is an ok time to file mandamus, while others say 2-3 years is a good time.

Congratulations! Could you please share info of the attorney who filed your WOM? their fees? and when did you enter the country?

so even if I get approved by the USCIS, I go to the interview for green card, again?
I got approved without an interview, asylum granted by IJ.
But I heard interviews are way more common for asylum based I-485s than under Biden admin.

Be prepared for interview, it's more likely to take place than not.
Was your asylum approved during Biden time by USCIS?
