Processing time for green card based on asylum

I checked with congresswoman couple of months ago she said it was in the local field office. I chatted with a live agent yesterday she told its in the National Benefits Center from the start. Dont know who is telling the truth.
You are not alone, I checked with two agents separately in Dec.27 and Dec.28. First one told me my case is still in NBC, and then second one told me my case is in Texas service center...Which made me have to talk to the third agent to make sure...then third one told me my case is in NBC....I am so confused, but anyway, there is no need to ask again then

They are just bluffing

Hello everyone. I would like to file a mandamus based on asylum gc. However, I am planning to file it myself. Does anyone have this experience?

I personally don't, but under the current situations I strongly advice you to do it though an attorney, take your time finding a really good attorney with notable experience and integrity.

Totally Agree!

If you filed in Jan 2025 think its too soon to file a wom. Do your research before you file it.
Thank you so much!
What would you consider a reasonable time to file wom ? I’ve seen a few people filed after 11 months.
my attorney who filed my I-485 mentioned that it’s still too early, but other mandamus attorneys have said that the outcome usually doesn’t change much once the application has been pending for more than 9 months

The average wait time is 20.5 months. We dont want them to dismiss your case saying you still have time. USCIS is unpredictable thats why i said do your research. Good Luck.

Hi Rojo, any updates on your mandamus?
Yes, USCIS issued RFE for medicals to which I responded.
Then I received a new RFE for medicals because the civil surgeon made a couple of mistakes in the form.
Now I am waiting for the surgeon to fix the errors and I will respond to the RFE AGAIN.

Hope everything goes smoothly. Could you please share if they asked for an interview or not? which field office? And after how long did you file for the WOM? Appreciate your responses

No interview yet, I'm not sure if they'll schedule one.

Filed WOM after 11 months.

Thanks.

Wish you all the best to get your GC soon.

I had my affirmative asylum approved on Aug 30th, 2024. My AOS case was filed on March 20, 2025, I believe my case would be adjudicated in St. Louis FO, however still no update after biometrics, I'm considering filing a WOM after passing 1-year but don't know if someone should wait until passing the processing time of 20.5 month.

Your asylum was granted in court, correct?

Thank you. Yes, in court.

Did you file your AOS case after or before the 1-year of asylum granted?
After 4 months
