If you are applying after the one year mark, I think you may need to use some documents like utility bills, paystub or any other documents showing your continuous residency. I applied for I-485 July 2023 (with I-693) after 2 years they scheduled my interview. After interview officer told me your I-693 got expired. They sent me RFE for new medical test. I sent them all medical test. Now it’s about 2 months just waiting for response from them.When did you get your I-693 from the civil surgeon? And how long did it take for you to get your interview after applying?

This is not true. You can file a mandamus after 6-months. I filed for mandamus in 2025, 11 months after I filed and my I-485 was approved 16-days after I filed mandamus without an interview.Filing Mandamus isnt the issue but to have satisfied what a Judge would consider as reasonable period, so you typically must have waited beyond the inquiry date plus extra, people who filed in 22/23 may have a chance but for those of us who filed in 24, it would amount to an exercise in futility.
