Processing time for green card based on asylum

My status recently changed to this too, I applied in April this year, asylum approved october 28, 2024. Does anyone know how long before an interview is actually scheduled? I still have a month and a half more until my one year.
My asylum was approved on August 2024 so I’ve reached the 1 year after approval. Thank you!
What service center do you guys in? (First 3 letters of your receipt number)

Let’s everybody share here service centers and how long have waited. Mine msc, still waiting 2 years

Mine is MSC. After 6 months of applying for adjustment of status my case has changed to “ready to be scheduled for an interview.

Hey guys, is it too early to apply for i485 two months after granted by judge?
The processing time for an asylee green card is currently 16.5 months and has been going up with recent changes to how they process applications by doing further vetting, requiring interviews and new biometrics for most applicants. So in theory if you apply today you should expect an approval sometime in February 2026 which will be 1.5 years from when you were granted by a judge

Good Afternoon Seniors Bros and Sisters,
My apology if my question is disturb to everyone. Allow me to clarify one of the question in I-485 part 1 , Item 12 for I-94 record number. Do i need to put I-94 that I entry 4 years ago with student visa ? or do i need to put I-94 that get it from asylum approval ?

Same situation here please let me know what you end up putting there for an answer (old entry I-94 or the approved asylum I-94)

My Friend, you need to write your first I-94, when you entered in the USA. The reason is that after the column, you will see below asking a question “what is you current status?”.
Many folks are often confused that either they need to write the new number or old. So, do not hesitate to write your initial I-94 instead of second I-94 issued after grant of asylum.

Thank you. I will file next week.

For Form I-765 I need the following attachment documents with application form I-765.
2 passport-size pictures.
Notice of action for I-485.
Asylum approval letter.
I-94 approved asylum.
I live in Tucson, AZ, If I want to send I-765 employment authorization via USPS what is the address to mail the I-765 application?
My asylum was approved and I applied for I-485 in 1999 but still pending I guess there is no fee for me to apply for I-765 (Please correct me if I am wrong).
Is there any thing that I need to add or know?
It's been more than decades since I applied for work authorization back when it used to be 1½ pages now 7 pages.

Just out of curiosity, you applied for I-485 twenty six years ago???

Yes, but pending under trig, USCIS associated me with a group that I had no connection with, I told the interview officer during my I-485 interview (which lasted over 5 hours) in 2021 that they made a mistake, she did not argue (because she realized the mistake) but sent my case to LosAngles asylum office for Post-Asylum Eligibility Review, because of inconsistency in my interview compared to interview in 1998, (my memory sucks after aneurysm in my brain) still waiting for Green card.
But if you or anyone who knows about my question on I-765 application that I want to submit soon I will appreciate it.

Thanks for your message! 1. Yes, it’s possible that USCIS could approve my case before January 2026, but even if they do, they usually won’t issue the green card until I’ve completed the full one-year continuous physical presence requirement after my case was granted. 2. Since I applied early, I included documents like lease agreements, utility bills, employment details , and other records to show I’ve been continuously present in the U.S. since the grant date, without any travel or significant gaps.
Hi, I found your message is very helpful. What is the most recent update on your I-485 case? Since you applied 2 to 3 months after your asylum grant, the documents you submitted as proof of 1 year physical presence covers only a short period of 3 months max. Have you ever received a RFE for that?
The reason applying early (before 1 year mark) makes sense is to get into the queue and speed up process. If they send you a RFE (roof of 1 year presence) later which usually delays your processing time, what is the whole point, right?

Hi, In my case, USCIS didn’t ask about the 1-year physical presence. The RFE I received was only for an incomplete application, which I corrected and sent back. As of August, the status just says ‘Response to USCIS request for evidence was received,’ and I haven’t seen any new updates yet.

Applied early is it put my case in the queue sooner. Even though I had to deal with an RFE, at least I didn’t lose extra months just waiting to file until after the 1-year mark.
