Processing time for green card based on asylum

Hi all,

Quick question, How much important is the filing address?

My attorney filed my i485 to NBC service center through mail they received and got receipt and it is pending.

I want to file my i131, As I live in California the filing address is showing as Arizona. Where should I send it?

Thank you for your response
we need to send most recent i94 after asylum approval, state id or DL , asylum approval notice, work permit A05 category, ssocial-security card, recent passport we used to come in US, 2 photographs white background, marriage certificate for couple , birth certificate for kids if any , and of course $1440 check for each applicant.
Is the requirement correct?
If i miss something please add. I shall be thankful to you.

I noticed that the processing time for our category recently shifted from 16 to 16.5 months. It seems the timeline is being updated dynamically, which hopefully indicates that cases are actively being worked on.

May I ask why they sent you Request For Evidence?
Is it a standard process that everyone get?
Or you had some documents missing from the original package?

As someone mentioned things are slowing down as the administration wants to vet applicants better and require interviews for most and biometrics for new applications, which all cause delays.

Processing time in 2025 went from 15.5 to 16 to 16.5 months and will probably keep going up as average adjudication time goes up due to recent changes. Filing earlier sounds better for the time being.

I really do not believe whatever time you file has any bearing on your application, there are people getting approved after 8months , there are others after 2 years , USCIS has no set standards and the 16 or 16.5 isn’t really different from the last 2 years . Where people are missing the point is they have never said 100% , they always say 80% within 14 / 16.5 , our prayer is not to be among the 20% which can be INDEFINITE!!!!!

I agree that their processing time is unpredictable but if you are making an educated guess on how long an application will take to process then you would go by the average as anyone is more likely to be within the 80% than the 20%. Another thing to note is the trend, if average processing time is trending slower then chances are any application will now take longer.

But what matters more is that slowing here is not random, it's a direct result of new ambiguous rules. Best of luck to everyone.

I found a lawyer on Google who is forming a group to file a mandamus petition to get a Green Card-based decision. I spoke with her, and she is organizing groups of six people to file mandamus petitions. Here is the link to her website: https://jtarenalaw.com/

The next group she is filing is in October, with a very reasonable price of only $2200 as a one-time payment. I am interested in filing. If anyone else is interested, please pin me so we can form a group and file mandamus petitions together.

Filing Mandamus isnt the issue but to have satisfied what a Judge would consider as reasonable period, so you typically must have waited beyond the inquiry date plus extra, people who filed in 22/23 may have a chance but for those of us who filed in 24, it would amount to an exercise in futility.

The only downside is losing that $2200! I applied in March 2024, and I received my green card last month without interview. .
