Processing time for green card based on asylum

Hi, In my case, USCIS didn’t ask about the 1-year physical presence. The RFE I received was only for an incomplete application, which I corrected and sent back. As of August, the status just says ‘Response to USCIS request for evidence was received,’ and I haven’t seen any new updates yet.

Applied early is it put my case in the queue sooner. Even though I had to deal with an RFE, at least I didn’t lose extra months just waiting to file until after the 1-year mark.
Everyone is just making assumptions and being overtly optimistic, there is no proof WHATSOEVER that filing early or after the 1 year mark has any bearing on adjudication, just do what you feel comfortable with.USCIS is at cross roads and their actions are like reading tea leaves!!

Fair point — USCIS processing can definitely feel unpredictable, and none of us know exactly how they prioritize cases. I just shared my own experience that applying early at least gave me peace of mind that my case was already in the queue. Everyone’s situation is different, so like you said, it really comes down to what each person feels most comfortable with.

Hi guys is the processing of i485 for asylum still paused or is it just very slow. I didn’t see much people getting approved, I’m applying soon and I’m a bit worried.

Depends on lots of factors. There is no straightforward answer to that. Some get approved in months and for some it takes years.

Well it is and at the same time it’s not !!!
My current ead expires on 2029
But I send I-485 on September 2024 and my attorney also send I-765 on February 2025 she said they go together and it’s better to ask for a new one
You don’t need it. If you have upgraded your social security you’re authorized to work indefinitely

Has anyone received any I-485 approvals or an interview in the past few months?
We've been waiting for about two years since filing and a year since sending RFE, but nothing is happening yet.

Patience is key during hard times like now. Mine is 2 year 2 months. I know its hard we will get thru this. Good Luck.

I had my interview on July 31, officer told me your i693 is expired. I sent them new one. They received it on August 18, but no any update after it. I don’t know what else should I do

When did you get your I-693 from the civil surgeon? And how long did it take for you to get your interview after applying?

For anyone applying before the 1-year mark after asylum approval — what documents are you using to prove you’ve been living in the U.S. for a full year since your asylum was granted?
