DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Hii, please I need help.

I’m on a valid F-1 visa. I was included in her DV case as a beneficiary/ derivative . She has arrived in the states. we are still waiting for her green card. I’m adjusting my status but since her green card has not been delivered. Can I include a copy of her dv immigrant visa + I-551 stamp in my documents and file before the end of the fiscal year.

2. Also I have already paid the DV adjustment fee with a money order and it has been cashed out. How long does it take to get the receipt.

3. Also, if I don’t get the receipt on time, can I include a copy of the money order receipt in my I-485 application.

Since we already have an existing DV2025 AOS thread in place, there was no need creating a separate DV2025 AOS thread of your own. Your post got moved to the existing AOS thread, and your new thread got deleted to eliminate confusion for other members.

Now to your questions:
1. Yes. However I hope you’re aware your application must also be approved before the end of the FY if you’re applying on the FTJ basis.
2. Take a look at the Timeline spreadsheet to get an idea of of how long on average it has taken others who recently made the payment to get their payment receipt.
3. You could try while keeping your fingers crossed, because just a copy of the money order itself or the receipt does not necessarily prove the payment was made.

Hi all.

Today my status was updated to the "New Card Is Being Produced." I'm so glad)

It was a long 7 months of waiting and experiences. I suppose my state Illinois is the longest in this matter. In early June, I turned to the congressman, but at the beginning of August his request came that the case would be considered before the end of the financial year. A week ago I talked with a living agent, but she also said that nothing was required of me, just wait. Honestly, the expectation killed, but they are cherished and such long -awaited words "New Card Is Being Produced." I am so happy about this)

Many thanks to this chat, @Sm1smom and everyone who shared their cases. Even just reading this chat and studying the table, I found answers to many questions. They are priceless!

P.S. Request to make changes to the table sent
Congratulations and thanks for the update.

and file before the end of the fiscal year.
Like mom says, it needs to be approved before the end of the fiscal year.
That gives you 31 working days, starting tomorrow, to go from start to finish in this process.

Do you have a backup plan - when you say you are a derivative of“her”, are you referring to a spouse or a parent?

Thank you very much . I have got all my documents ready to file if I just get a copy of the receipt.

I’m referring to “spouse”. I don’t have a backup plan yet. What do suggest I do ?

3. A follow-up question on No.3. What if I add a screenshot of it being cashed out + money order receipt

It’s still a very short time to get everything done even if you courier it overnight tomorrow. Not saying it’s not possible, especially if you are proactive with things like rescheduling your bio for as early as possible, but it’s not something I’d rely on given all the steps in the process + background checks. Have you checked the timeline spreadsheet to see typical times for your FO?

Backup plan would be your spouse sponsoring you for a green card (F2A). Will she be earning enough to sponsor you? The good news is that the current wait time to be able to file for AOS as F2A - assuming they allow you to continue using table B to file (not guaranteed) - is only a few months (though it would take much longer to actually get the green card). Any more discussion of this angle should be in appropriate forum, not DV forum.

Case status changed today to 'New Card being Produced'

No words to thank @Sm1smom for this amazing forum.

Our case was approved really fast. We were current for August and did early filing in July. Altogether was only 6 weeks from date of filing until approval.

Our FO was Chicago
Interview was waived.

Will update the spreadsheet shortly.

It may be worth giving it a shot in that case, BUT, bear in mind it may not go so fast. Your background check clearance will play a significant role in the process. The assigned IO’s workload/schedule is another factor.

Whatever the case, be sure to keep maintaining your F1 status, just in case. Your backup plan will be for your wife to sponsor you (F2A category) if this FTJ AOS is not approved by the end of the FY.

DV fee money order was processed quickly (2 business days) in case anyone was concerned. Awaiting receipt after emailing KCC.

Separately, on the I-485 do people include all their citizenships for Part 1 Q8?

You should include/disclose if your have a dual/multi citizenship.

Hello all. Firstly, thanks to Sm1smom and all members who've dedicated their time to answering questions, this forum and all spreadsheets and FAQ's has been an invaluable resource in navigating the processes.

I have two questions here regarding my case. My info thus far is all in spreadsheet, but nonetheless:
-CN current in September
-Manhattan FO (Question 1: Am I assuming correctly that while I took biometrics at Brooklyn ASC, that there is no Brooklyn FO, and it is Manhattan? I actually can't see this on NOA or Bio)
-Lockbox (Elgin) accepted package on 07/21/2025
-NOA (with Bio notice same day) on 08/01/2025
-Completed Bio on 08/13/2025
-On 08/18/2025, today, I saw case update to show the issue of RFE.
-I obviously and understandably have not received interview notice as of yet.
Question 2: I understand I am now set to wait until RFE arrives by mail. Given the timeline, I am feeling stress that it is unlikely to submit the response to RFE, get it hopefully processed successfully and then receive and complete an interview with hopes of approval by September 30 deadline. Am I right to be worried? Should I wait some weeks after submission, and then if it's really down to wire - submit a congressional?
Forgive me if I've missed a reply here with similar circumstances as these.

Much appreciated.
