DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Hello,

I currently have two I-485 applications that I plan to submit simultaneously, one possibly in June (EB-2) and the other (DV2025 AOS) in August of this year. I received a sealed I-693 last year (2024), but I only have one copy.

My question is, should I contact the civil surgeon to see if he can provide a second I-693 (theoretically, he has an electronic copy, and I also have one), or can I include the one I-693 in the envelope for the first EB-2 application, and not include a second one for the second DV application?

If a second I-693 is required, would it be difficult to request a second copy from the doctor afterward? I would appreciate any insights from MOM or people with experience, particularly regarding the costs and time involved.

Thank you!

Each AOS application is required to have a sealed I-693 in support of the application. You'll need to speak with your CS to figure out how difficult or easy it would be for them to provide you with a second sealed I-693, only your CS can make that determination.

Hi, so we still have no news, 4 months after RFE response and 5 months after filing.

We are planning to do a processing time inquiry after 6 months. What else can we do?

1. can we do another congressional inquiry at some point?
2. how about a service request?
3. how about sending a letter addressed to the director of the FO, who signed off the RFE? Could this have a negative impact?

Hi @Sm1smom

We completed our medical exam a few weeks ago and received the signed and sealed envelopes.

However, when I bumped into the doctor today, he mentioned that a new edition of Form I-693 is expected to be released in the coming days or weeks.

We’re hoping to go current in the next Visa Bulletin.

If the new edition is released before we file, will our existing medical form still be valid since it was signed before the update? Or would we need to redo it using the latest edition?

If the latter is true, what’s the point of the new 2-year validity rule if a form update can suddenly render a previous version unusable?

Would appreciate any insight—thanks!

1. Yes you can. Your congressional person's office will make the determination as to if a follow-up inquiry to USCIS is warranted or not based on the previously received response.
2. You you can.
3. Yes you may do that also. No guarantee they will acknowledge or respond to it. Hard to determine what the reaction to receiving such a mail will be.

Last service request was responded to early February, congressional inquiry end of February.

What would be a good time for another attempt for each?

We will also give the letter a shot…

Whether your current form I-693 form will be acceptable or not as at the time of your AOS filing (if an updated/new form gets released) will depend on what USCIS lists as the acceptable edition. So you will need to check the website to confirm if your current form will still be accepted, regardless of when it was signed by the CS.

There's no 2 year validity rule when it comes to the medical report. As of Nov. 1, 2023, the medical form validity period has become indefinite. However, USCIS does not expect applicants to schedule and complete their medical exam several months in advance of when they will be filing for AOS, considering the form could get updated at any point in time. The purpose of the indefinite validity is to ensure applicants whose AOS adjudication process spans over a long period, (one year or more for instance) do not get asked to submit a new medical exam if they already submitted it earlier on with their AOS package.

Hello!
How long it usually takes for lockbox to process the case ? My AOS case was delivered a couple weeks ago and I haven’t received any confirmation yet and the fees wasn’t cashed out yet , should I call to ask if the case was ever received?
If case rejected will I receive notice of that?

Dear MOM and all,

Our interview finish smoothly. Once we gave the updated our bank statement and all sponsor documents, officer said even not require sponsor due to our sufficient amount. However, my husband (main applicant) background check is pending and 2 derivative are completed as she said, our application is fine and ok to proceed approval. Officer ask us to wait and she will check weekly and update as soon as once background check is clear. She also said we are the 1st applicant that she proceed for DV AOS.

Please kindly advise,
1) if we should enquiry congressional expertise for background check and
2) when should be the right time for follow up?

Thanks for all the advise that all went smoothly according to your advices.

Will do.

I can hopefully do another service request for the RFE, can my wife do anything before 6 months have passed?

I think I already asked but is there any clue what’s delaying our case so much?

What other options do we have besides sending requests, getting automated replies, and just waiting? Man, I thought I’d have my green card by January or February, but it’s April now, and I don’t see anything changing anytime soon. Extremely frustrating experience.

I feel you brother… We had the same expectation. Did you do your congressional inquiry?

I did. Around mid/late February. Now I kinda regret that I sent it early. I'll definitely send another one. I'll send a service request too.

Here is what they replied to the office:

"A review indicates that your constituent's application is still pending within processing time. Once further action is taken, a notice will be sent to the address of record."

Hopefully the 6 months mark will bring movement. You did not get a RFE right? Are you alone or with spouse?
