denied for adjustment of status help please

i feel very sad i just got home and i received a letter from uscis that reads

upon consideration it is ordered that your application for status as permanent resident be denied for the following reason:

you failed to submit convincing evidence of your physical presence in the usa on 12/21/2000

if you feel you have been denied in error you can file a motion to reopen or reconsider with in 30 days of the denial by submitting form i-290

why does it have to be that exact date, so is there anything else i can do.
please i need advise what do you guys suggest any advise will be greatly appreciated.

I think it is to prove that the OP is qualified to file adjustment of status under 245i, if there was a labor certification and/or a family petition that was filed for him before April 30, 2001 (despite overstaying and/or working without authorization). So yes, it matters.

thank you for the response i was told that a friends relative sent certified letters of two people that has known him since then and he was approved for green card. anyone know anything about that i wonder if i can do that, he also did it under 245i.

That may be a way to go. Why wouldn't you go to the good lawyer and discuss all possibilities? It's your life at this moment, you don't want to save $200 and get kicked out the country!

Were you in the US on that date? If so, what were you doing? Studying, working, etc? You have any document proving what you were doing then?

well i had my interview in april me and my mom were there on time . so when the officer called us in he said i usually don't do these cases but they are backed up so i am helping them.
we just went over the application and the he said have you ever lived in washington i said no but have visited a few years ago and i was arrested i was 14 yaers old so he told me i needed to send him the court dispositions to see if it was a felony charge after that he said don't worry we have no reason to deny you.two day's after i receive the letter for proof of being here 12/21/2000
so i sent them hopital bills from 12/1999 but the want that exact day and i don't have anything because i had i big accident and i was in bed for months the last doctor i saw was on 04/15/2000 after that just in bed recovering.i dont know what i will do if i get deported i have been here since i was four years old.

My advise is the same GET A LAWYER! Don't waste time trying to find a response on forums - as far as I know you have very limited time to ask for appeal (whatever it's called). MOST people here are NOT lawyers, and your situation is pretty unique, so we can just give very limited advices. For example, you could get a letter from your doctor or hospital that you were in critical condition and MUST stay in bed for almost a year. Plus couple letters from friends that it was indeed the case.

My Advice to you is to get a Lawyer !! Since there is an arrest and hospitalization in this case which is very complicated case!!

That's not what makes his case complicated; it's the fact that it has been denied and he needs to appeal.

He needs proof that he was in the US on December 22nd, 2000. Not 1999.
