Received a weird letter - Please help ASAP

I have applied for citizenship and been waiting for 26 months. I received an interview letter last year (August) which was scheduled for September 2008. When I went for the interview I was told that it had to be rescheduled. After several months today I received a letter from the local San Francisco office signed by Robin Barret, (field office director). The letter is not the official interview letter however it states:

Please come to the office shown above at the time and place indicated in connection with and official matter.

Bring with you: Your picture ID, permanent resident card, and all passports.

Reason for appointment: Examination for naturalization.

Anyone have any idea about this? Please help!
 
My brother received this letter also last year. The reason in his case was because he had sued USCIS and they were scheduling his interview out of sequence. Hope that is whats happening in your case too. Good Luck.

I did not sue them, however when I call USCIS at the end of Feb 2009 an officer told me that earlier my file was not at SF and SF requested it and now it is there. And he place a service request for me. Just one week later I received an email from SF office that says they will reschedule my interview in 30-90 days. Finally I received this letter and since it is not standard interview letter I was worrying about it. Anyone else has similar experience?

Do you have reason to worry?
Sounds to me that the letter is the direct result of the service request since your file is finally at the SF and an interview has been scheduled.
 
Thank you, I worried because letter is not standard interview letter. It seems I worried for no reason. Also, I was looking for if anyone else received similar letter or not.

yellow notice

Hi
I applied for N-400 in Jan 2009. On jan 17th I got notice of receipt. But on March 3rd I got a yellow letter saying I will need to bring additional documents to the interview.
No FP notice, no interview date nothing. Since then I have received nothing from USCIS.
Can anyone tell me what's the yellow notice is all about?

It's a generic Case File Review letter sent out by NBC which suggests what documents to bring to interview.
 
Nope, It was just a N-400 interview except a little delayed one :-) Officer also thanks to me for my patient. :) and told me to except Oath letter in 2-3 weeks.
