I think you will need transit visa, check the consulate web site to be sure. You need GC and valid passport only to re-enter US

Nope, no visa necessary if you're going directly to India with an Indian passport, and then back to the US with a GC.

You do need your Indian passport. Green Card is like visa to live and work in USA. In almost all cases (except may be for Canada / Mexico) GC should be accopanied by your passport.
