How come that happened?? Well, first of all i would like to congratulate you. im happy for you, your patience has paid off.
Please explain..

For September, immigrant numbers in the DV category are available to qualified DV-2008 applicants chargeable to all regions/eligible countries as follows. When an allocation cut-off number is shown, visas are available only for applicants with DV regional lottery rank numbers BELOW the specified allocation cut-off number:
Region All DV Chargeability Areas Except Those Listed Separately
AFRICA 62,300
Nigeria 18,450
ASIA CURRENT
EUROPE CURRENT
NORTH AMERICA (BAHAMAS) CURRENT
OCEANIA CURRENT
SOUTH AMERICA, and the CARIBBEAN CURRENT

Congratulations abeku66, your paryers have been answered! Now the race for you has began :D

Judging from the September cut-off numbers it seems that quit a few folks in the AF region have been left out of DV2008. We feel your pain :(

Last thought: It seems that as we edge towards September DOS is making major leaps in the numbers. 47,000 to 62,300 is a 15,300 difference. Why don't they do that all year long?

Though I'm current, this is really heartbreaking for the folks who had to endure 14 months of anxious waiting only to amount to nothing. It's like a mirage. Well that's life -- you don't always get what you want. Keep on moving forward.

Anyway, to those of us the lucky ones, congrats and good luck with your interviews.

Hi members,
As everybody by now who are in the GC Ordeal know that EB2 for India has moved to June'2006 for August bulletin.
My QUESTION is my priority date is Feb'06(EB-2) but when i'am checking the processing times for Applications filed for 1-485 at TSC are now 17th June'06
My application received date is 06-27-2006 & Receipt date is 09-18-2006,so how does my application process?
does it need to like bothe priority date & processing date need to be same?
or as the priority date is current they process the GC irespective of the received date?
BELLA,ATTORNEY,SGUITAR,Please suggest.
Thanks in advance for your time

Now that a lot of us are current in September, can someone advice with the necessary documents that are needed, or maybe provide a link?

Tank you and congrats to everyone!!

Thanks... bro . i almost gave up all hopes of ever becoming current .It's such a shame that some people are still left lingering but i guess that's the nature of every lottery.Well ,good luck in your forthcoming interview and let me know how you get on especially with the Passport issue!!!

Sad for ppl who won and not become current. Think next year we will see more regions that wont become current because there was much more interest in DV-2009.

It certainly feels overwhelming to finally reach this point :D:D:D

Thnx to you abeku66 for your words of support

Although I'm feeling the pain of the exhausting wait endured by other non succefull winners from africa . All sympathies to almogabel "don't give up bro"

3amakmahmoud any view on 2009 Case Number allocation?

3amakmahmoud, it appears you have the inside track. Hence I will like to hear your opinion your take for 2009 DV. It appears that the case/rank numbering for 2009 DV may have changed. If it is true the the numbering may differ from 2008 DV, does your contact has any idea as to how this may affect 2009 FY. Just looking for you to share your thoughts and that is all. Thanks in advance for sharing

Gentleman, stop riding your luck at making fake predictions. You said africa won't be current and will only get to 50K which didn't come true.I can assure you that i was 99% certain that africa won't be current given the relatively high number of notification letters that were sent out last year.(96,000) out of which 66% was for africa alone.By the use of common sense anyone at all could predict that africa stood a greater likelihood of not being current.Do not mislead people into thinking that you have a contact within KCC who supply you with info.We are not kids and neither are we ignorant. If i was you ,i will rather worry about the interview ahead because your grammer doesn't suggest you have the relevant educational background to qualify for a dv immigrant visa.Good luck with your fake predictions.

Abeku66, no need for insults. It is fun to speculate about this things. Personally, I enjoy reading peoples comments. USA immigration, actually a lot of countries, is somewhat a "blackbox", hence thinking that at least someone has a bit of insight into this "blackbox" should put a smile on all our faces, if accurate or not. I have lived in North America almost all my life, yet I am puzzled by how immigration officers adjucate the many cases that passes through the agency each year.

So let us be open minded about things and let us keep our insultive comments to ourselves.

I am surprised that someone like you who has lived in North America almost all his life should think that a dv applicant who can hardly construct a complete sentence in english without grammatical errors should have inside information into a system which you rightly call a "blackbox"; and even more surprising when you try to solicit his views because you think he's an insider. I wonder whether there's any light in this blackbox. That gentleman must be brought to order, and Abeku66 has just done that. We're not ignorant maniacs whose patience and waiting spirit can be taken for granted by someone who asserts he's insider, but keeps on asking dumb questions on this forum when his insiders at the KCC could have provided him all that info. The truth is that no one knows what happens at the KCC - not even the employees - and even if they do, they are bound by an oath of secrecy not to disclose inside information to applicants in a 'blackbox' system like the dv lottery. Yes, we all have the freedom to speculate and give information to the best of our knowledge - that's the spirit of this forum, but not under the false pretense that we have inside information.

The average american has no idea as to how the immigration system works,. So my friend do not be surprise by my comments. Again let us keep the insults to a minimum, there is no need for it. He may or may not have an insider at KCC, as you well know, one of the rights in USA is freedom of speech. Thus give the man his say. As I said, I personally like to read individuals speculating and playing the guessing game. You may retort without the insults. So let us keep it civil.
