In any case the IO will go over this with him in the interview..the question is confusing as it asks "how many times has your current spouse been (as in past) married" and on the next line goes on to say "if your spouse has ever been married..."
It seems to tie the words "been" and "ever been" together in these two sentences and therefore leads to confusion.
Come to think of it, I may have written down "1" myself, even though my wife was never married before.
USCIS should have worded it "How many times (including current marriage) has your current spouse been married"
