Hi,
I have a valid EAD and am working with it. I would like to know if I can travel out of US for a week and come back and work on the same EAD. The EAD is valid for next 2 years.

Is there any process involved with this ... do I need to inform the USCIS about new I-94 etc ...

Thanks,
Chel

What is your visa status ?
EAD is just work permit and does not give you any status. To enter the US, you need valid visa.

EAD can be shown as proof of being on status but it only permits you to work in the US. You need an Advance Parole to travel in & out of the US. Once you have this, it's not required to have a visa anymore but if you have an H1B visa you don't need an AP.

OK,here is a little more precise.

If s/he worked with EAD because s/he is on AOS pending, yes, s/he needs AP or valid H or L visa(Other visa does not help due to immigration intent in this stage) to reenter.
If s/he worked with EAD because s/he is on L2 visa(no AOS pending), s/he needs valid L2 visa to reenter.

I have a valid L2 visa and working on a EAD. Now in need to go to attend my sisters wedding for a week. so I want to know if I can go to my country and return back to US and work again on the EAD. As my husband on L1 will continue to stay until Dec 2006.

As long as you have valid L2(and you maintain L2 status), you can travel with no problem. You can work again with EAD when you are back.
Let me confirm somthing for sure.
You did not file I485(Adustment of status, i.e. final stage of greencard process), is that right ?

If she has an L-2, wether she filed an I-485 or not is immaterial.
