I thought it might be a good idea to start a new threat to exclusively discuss about this.

Is it true that you cannot travel on RTD to UAE? I am an asylee and I don't have my GC yet. My NP is still valid and I want to visit UAE in summer. What would be the best option for me? Does this apply to Turkey too?

Egypt - Recognize (need visa)
Jordan - Recognize (need visa)
Germany - Recognize ( no visa required for US RTD holders, visa required for RP)
Lebanon - Don't recognize

Her is my situation. I don't need a visa for Turkey if I travel on my NP. I also need to pay a visit to dubai. My NP is still valid for another 5 years. Will it be okay if I apply for a visa for UAE on my NP and travel to both Turkey and Dubai on my NP?

You need a RTD since you are an asylee. I would recommend you wait till you get your GC to use ur NP.

I am going to have my RTD by then. But I have to go there the upcoming summer. What are the complications to using NP to go to countries that do not accept RTD?

I applied using RP in NY last Oct and i got it.

They charged me $35 (if i remember correctly) for the visa, much cheaper than my gf's who has a US passport :D

none of the gulf countries accept RTD i.e saudia, uae, qatar, oman, bahrain, kuwait, and few others as well

Saudi does accept RTD and Travel Document. Infact when you get there the immigration officer would treat it like a US passport.

Which means what exactly? Can you please elaborate?

What I meant to say is that Saudi Consulate recognize RTD and Advance Parole as valid travel documents.
For some reason once you get to Saudi Arabia the security treats this as an American Passport.
I went there a couple of years ago with my RTD and I while filling out the paperwork I had put my country of birth under citizenship. The immigration officer saw my country of birth and looked at the passport and insisted that I was American and that I should change it to USA, which was very funny.
To avoid any issues I gladly changed it to USA and he stamped me then.
