What Does This Mean?

Hello All;

My case:

EAC-02-162-XXXXX
RD 04/01/2002
ND 04/15/2002
1st FP: 01/06/2002
2nd FP: 11/23/2003

I filed my case under NIW category and was pending at VCS. Three weeks ago I moved to Florida (under TSC). Today the message has changed to:

“On February 5, 2004, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to our office in U.S. DHS, ORLANDO, FL for them to schedule and conduct your interview. Scheduling can take several months. Our office in U.S. DHS, ORLANDO, FL will notify you when they schedule your interview or take other action on your case.”

I have two questions and will appreciate any help.

1. Is this an automatic transfer or work has begun on my case?
2. Should I expect delay due to the transfer?

Many Thanks.

better way to ask my question

Hi;

Thanks for the reply.

I guess a better way to ask my question is: Did this transfer happen due to my recent move or because the case has been approved and an interview is needed?

Thanks.

Hard to say. They usually transfer a case to reduce the work load in process center or you move out of their service area. My case transfered on Dec 23, got notice for interview for Feb 2004. I think it really depends on the local office process time.

Good Luck

Some time it is routine transfer to local USCIS some time your file may have some issues that they want to clear at the time of Interview. It all depends on the local service center when to schedule the interview generally they send interview date 1-month advance of interview date. You can not predict when they will schedule the interview it can be in 2 months it may take 3-4 months in NYC it is taking 10-12 months for interview once file is transferred. Nothing to worry, your file has moved, if no issues you will get the approval same day at the time of interview.

VSC has transfred many files to local offices between feb 2 and feb 6 most of thease cases were filed before august 2002

Good Luck!!
